We came here to get some tacos! Sounds reasonable enough, at a place labeled "Famous Tacos"...right? No, no tacos for you! When I finally got through the absurdly long line to where I order, the man, Frederico or Federico or something along those lines, was indifferent and seemed to have had enough of his job that day. I asked if they had a taco plate available and he said no, not until 1100. I said I just want 4 tacos then. He, very indifferently, gestured towards the paper menu in front of me...as if to say, well, choose then, not my problem. So I got 4 Nicks. My receipt had the time of 0934 on it. I received my BURRITOS at 1032, yes, they were burritos, not even tacos. I noticed that I was possibly the victim of some discrimination as well as I noticed he was very respectful and helpful to some of the other customers that came in after me, even suggesting some different food based on their preference. The burritos themselves (fajita, bean & cheese) were way too salty and the fajita meat on them was tough and chewy. My wife couldn't even chew the meat and had to take all of the meat out and just ate a bean and cheese burrito. The reason this isn't a 1 star review is because the actual flour tortilla was tasty and reminds me of growing up with the flavor profile. I have struggled with even posting this review because I was so disappointed and angry about the entire encounter. After coming back home, calming down and reflecting, I realized none of it was my imagination and I needed to get this out there into the ether so it doesn't fester into something else. I'm still left to wonder how these "Famous Tacos" taste and if the rude man that took my order ever got over his attitude and had...

I have been trying to find the best tacos in Kerrville and the one that some people said wasn't good, turned out to be the best one to me! Great quality, taste, portions and preparation. Authentic except for one type of taco and that's the carne guisada. It was more like a brisket taco and had no guisada (gravy). The Picadillo, beef fajita, bean and cheese and potato egg and cheese are my favorites 😋 My review is based upon multiple visits and after trying Mary's a few times as a comparison because of the local stories. Final opinions are that Rita's has the most authentic tacos overall, taste the best and has far better service than many restaurants of any type in town! Prices are on point for the generous portions and much better quality than any other tacos I have tried, from Ingram to Comfort and that's many. I'm hungry just by doing...
Read moreMe and my mom went to get some tacos this morning thinking it would be faster than Mary’s tacos. Wrong! We went there and we got two Rita’s and one bacon, egg, and cheese taco. There were a lot of other people before us and we had this one guy ask for his order and I work at a food industry and to me this is bad service and quality. And we felt discriminated by because of our race because another guy of a different race got his order after us and he was able to get his food before us within 2 minutes. Then the lady up front had called our order but then when we try to get it she completely forgot that we had already ordered and in total we had waited an entire 45 minutes! By the time we got home my mom’s tortilla was hard and the bacon was raw! And my dad’s taco tasted gross and mine was okay but we will never go there again and we will always go to...
