To call this sushi would be a great disgrace to what sushi truly is; this sushi tastes what a person who had never heard of sushi tried to recreate it. First let me begin with the largest mistakes taken by this establishment. Rice endless rice the cheapest ingredient in sushi and it’s over abundance, for example the maki rolls which are supposed to be delicate and small with abundance of fish and minimal rice is not even circular but shaped like an arch??? Now this could be a stylistic choice but in the case of this establishment it is clearly due solely to incompetence, laziness, and sloppiness. This is seppuku territory. Further, the cucumber in the roll is the PEEL. Not even a proper slice of cucumber, just the bitter, tough scraps of cucumber peel. God knows what they do with the proper part but I had to pick the cucumber out of the roll or it was inedible. Lastly is the overall taste and experience. I’d liken it to Chinese Buffet sushi or Walmart packaged sushi. Oddly enough, the tip was also included in my bill and the sushi tremendously overpriced for what it was. I have no trouble paying for quality fish and quality craftsmanship in the art of sushi making but this was not found here nor there. I would advise any human who has tastebuds or sense to take their...
Read moreAsian Garden Sushi Bar is one of two sushi restaurants we have in Ketchikan. It generates sales because of the scarcity of sushi makers in town. I have always favored eating sushi down south because it is simply more satisfying. I called and ordered Smoked Salmon Roll. The ordering manner was straightforward and painless. The wait for one order took longer since only one guy making all the sushi orders when I had picked up my order. I found it inadequate because one person can overwork, overlook, and be complacent with the food quality. The quality of the smoked salmon roll that I had ordered was dry, austere, and the smoked salmon was not smoke salmon. It was raw, pinkish, slimy texture and I was disappointed. I hope to order the same sushi, and one can only expect that the food...
Read moreWe came from the cruise ship and my kid was hungry so we asked what she wanted to eat and she said noodles! So we looked for some Asian food around the area and walked into this place. It did not disappoint! The wonton noodle was not how we normally have it, as it was a little spicy for my kid, but my husband and I throughly enjoyed the togarashi in it. I forgot what sushi roll we got but it was good and the bento box was delicious as well. The servers were very enthusiastic and friendly which made the experience even better. Great place...
