Food is great and the view is awesome. I understand finding quality employees is difficult in rural Alaska but hiring anyone with a pulse is not gonna keep your business running.
First off our server said the place was “preferring cash” so we asked why, maybe if their card system was down. He said it was operating normally and they simply prefer cash. Was the first time hearing this from any server here and he said it very unprofessionally. The beer menu is inaccurate to what they have (Heineken instead of Stella, lot of missing beers, etc.) My friend was served a beer with the bottle cap still on. I know this is illegal in Alaska. All alcohol needs to be served unsealed. Sure it’s a dumb law but it means they likely are not going through the state training for serving which again, is very unprofessional. Another server took over our table and the rest was fine until the original one came back for the bill. He again said something along the line of “sooo we’re doing cash right??”
I really want this place to succeed but there is a lot to be desired service wise. The food is great- cooks, great job. Keep doing what you’re doing.
The first time I came here our server Spencer was awesome so I know yall...
Read moreThis was our second visit. The first visit was just acceptable---they were out of several of the desserts, the artichoke dip, (which came with a side of olive tapanade, which I enjoyed) was way too salty, and my dining companions said the pizza was fine, but not remarkable. Still, one should never judge on the basis of one visit. It's beautifully designed and decorated, and the view is gorgeous. This time I went with two people who hadn't been there before. They both said they wouldn't bother again. There is no option for coffee or tea, which I understand because they want you to order from the bar, but check out the photos. These dishes should never have been served. The meatballs on the manicotti were charred through on top but still cold in the middle. The four cheese pizza was charred through on top and scorched on the bottom. Maybe in a year or so when they've had time to refine things, we...
Read moreWe found this restaurant by random while exploring the Salmon Walk in Ketchikan, and it couldn’t have been more fitting. After making our way up what felt like a step street, we ended up on this wooden deck, high up in the trees, with a view that made it feel like we were literally in an eagle’s nest looking out over Ketchikan. The name fits perfectly. The crisp, cool air and the open-air vibe just added to the experience.
We shared an oven-baked pizza that was absolutely packed with flavor, and my friend had an old fashioned that was seriously on point—big ice, perfectly crafted. Even though I didn’t have one myself, it was too good not to mention.
This place just hits all the right notes—great food, amazing drinks, and a setting you won’t forget. I’d come back again,...
