Last Friday, I had the opportunity to eat at one of the most popular dinner spots for students looking to get some food after the exciting Conchs football win. Ask any friend group what their dinner plans are after the game and they will tell you : Dennys. The service was fantastic, but the food left me unsatisfied. The handful of times I have been, I did not have a good experience with the food. The service was great but the food did not match the customer service. On Friday, November 15, 2024, I got the Bourbon Bacon Burger. It sounded promising with its tasty ingredients including, white cheddar cheese, bacon, sauteed mushrooms, peppers, onions, bourbon sauce, lettuce, tomatoes, and pickles. What I thought was going to be a flavorful burger turned out to be a greasy disaster. The waiter brought out my dinner in a timely manner as well as a refill of my soda. However, when I went to pick up my burger, the bottom bun had been completely soaked in grease and practically dissolved. I initially thought the grease was due to the heavy ingredients in my meal, but my friend got a classic burger with tomatoes, lettuce, cheese, ketchup, and mayonnaise, and it was just as greasy. The only part of my dinner I enjoyed was the mozzarella sticks from the appetizer. On a previous visit, I got chicken tenders. Unfortunately, the chicken was very dry. It tasted as if it was left under a heat lamp for far too long. After these repeated experiences, I felt like it was safe to say that Dennys food was not worth the hype. However, If you are a high school student in need of a cheap, teen friendly, late night dinner spot, then Dennys would be your best choice. The restaurant's atmosphere is very welcoming making it a great place to chat with your friends about the great plays the football team had. Their meals are also affordable and they are open 24 hours a day. It’s by no means fine dining; though, I would recommend steering clear of their burgers. That being said, the environment is very teen-friendly and the waiters and waitresses are both welcoming and understanding. If you're looking for great food leaving you satisfied and full, then I would not recommend Dennys. While the food is nowhere near 5 star quality, the restaurant itself has some redeeming qualities, such as the service and atmosphere. For now, however, I find it difficult to recommend this restaurant based on the quality of...
Read moreSo we went on Halloween with our 8 year old son. Yea I know the virus, but it was a disaster ending to what was supposed to be a good evening. Our server was Verona, she was terrible. Didn’t ask up what we wanted to drink at first, she was unpleasant with a very unwelcoming demeanor. After our drink order she didn’t show back up for about 20+ minutes (mind you, there were only 2 other tables) So then all my son wanted was a substitute for sausage instead of ham on his moon over my hammy... not a big deal I thought!!! (We’d pay the difference) she then said that wasn’t an option and went and got the kitchen manager and he said it wasn’t a big deal and informed us it would be links instead of patties... PERFECT all we wanted was the sausage instead of ham. Huge ordeal!!! For what... Verona wasn’t the kindest after that... she wasn’t attentive at all and we kept having to ask the other servers for service instead bc she blatantly ignored us and we noticed she was doing the same with other customers. We like Denny’s for simple easy quick bites and the atmosphere at the keywest Denny’s but with the service she provided us makes us think twice about going back. Sorry Denny’s, your food is good and options great but the service of Verona doesn’t make us...
Read moreAfter reading some reviews online about the great happy hour Denny's has we decided to give it a try. It was a disaster. 4 of us walked in for a late lunch and there was 1 individual at the bar. We got sat a nice big table and the sever came over handed us menus and asked what we wanted to order. We had literally just sat down, so we asked for a drink menu. She walked away without saying anything and came back a few minutes later with a drink menu, which was one of those Plastic holders which also had a specials list on it. (Not sure why they aren't in the tables when you sit down). But we all ordered a beer, and waited until we got our drinks to order food. We got 2 cheeseburgers, which were the daily specials and my hubs for chicken fried chicken, and we also ordered a salmon dinner. The burgers were greasy, heavy, the bun was cold and the fries tasted like they had been sitting there for a bit. The chicken fried chicken was burnt and the Mac and cheese side was horrible. We asked for our check and we were charged full price for everything. We politely asked the server about the special prices on the burgers and drinks and she huffed away to get her manager. My worst experience in kew west. I will never go...
