Mac's Place — Restaurant in Key West

I had a taste for lobster rolls and google recommended this racist place. Anyone of color or beautiful melanin, I do not recommend this place. It's not for us.

Reply to the owner's response. Initially walking in the place of establishment, it reeked of Marlboro and Camel cigarettes odor. I asked the bartender if vaping was allowed even though the odor of cigarettes was clearly evident. She stated, "Yes , of course. " The bartender then seated us. As we looked over the menu... we noticed that there was a dog menu right next to the chicken tenders and other dining foods. Before I could discuss why the dog menu was right next to the regular food menu items , the manager walked up to me and said that their is no smoking on the facility. I was baffled by her boldness because, again, the entire place was absorbed in cigarette smoke. She then said that there is a smoking area with an ash tray?It was confusing because why would an Ashtray be needed for a non-smoking facility? We immediately told her that the bartender said yes, vaping is allowed here and pointed to the outdoor dining area where it was permittable. She then replied that "I will have to speak with her about that. However, I didn't argue, I just followed her to the "smoking section" of the restaurant. Here is the kicker!! The smoker's section is a bench facing a wall outside the establishment. Lol. That is where we were to order and dine . I refuse to believe your false information because I was their to witness everything. It is evident that "certain" people are allowed to do "certain" things in your establishment. Just not "certain" people like us! I left because my money would never be spent at a "certain"...

We ordered 2 appetizers and 2 main meals, the waitress asked us if we wanted the appetizers first or just whenever something is ready, we said whenever something is ready. Our main meals came, but sadly enough some of the rice was still hard and the food was very mediocre. We finished our main meals and were still waiting for the appetizers, in the mean time the waitress asked my husband about 3 times if he wanted more to drink even though he hadn’t even finished it, at the 3rd time which was about 20 minutes after we finished our mains, we asked the waitress about how long it would still take for our jalapeño poppers and chips and pico. She said “not very long, do you want to add that to your order?”, pretending as if we never asked for it. We said yes instead of just leaving because the main meal was not filling, we were still hungry and didn’t feel like going to another place for more food. There were only 4 tables with people so it was not like she was super busy by the way. The appetizers came within 10 minutes, sadly enough that food was not very good either but I guess one shouldn’t expect much from the food when your drinks are served in a plastic cup. We asked for the bill and when I payed in cash the waitress also failed to give me my exact change back. Food and service were great with the previous owner but we will not be coming back to this...

Sat down, had to go pick my other daughter up from practice leaving my girl and 5month old daughter there, got back in about 10min and found my girl feeding my daughter on a couch because they kicked her out of her seat because they “had a reservation” and needed the table….no signs to say reserved no notice, just an even though your sitting, you need to move with your baby your feeding…never going back!!! Disrespect to real patrons who would have been back multiple times and would have been loyal customers…that’s a tough location to be that way to people…didn’t even get to try a new place we were excited to try…WILL NOT BE BACK….

Response: All of your tables inside are high tops, even the one we were sitting at, in fact the group that came in had to lift that gentleman up out of his wheel chair and set him in the chair so he could sit at the high top table…don’t try to make me out to look like the bad guy when you are the ones that just kicked a mother and baby out of their table cause you could make more money with a larger party…none of the other tables are large enough to fit 3 people, an infant, and with a dog….thanks...
