Saw this place through Instagram and its been on my list for a while now and finally got to go. I will definitely be back and would like to order more fried tofu!!!!
Parking: Shared parking lot with the other restaurants Pet friendly: No Family friendly: Yes
FOOD: Fried tofu with chili oil ($7.99): 5 Stars – so so good. Perfect little cubes of fried goodness. Not spicy at all but it doesn’t matter as these were so good. Definitely a must order
Popcorn Chicken ($9.39): 4 Stars – good crunch (meaning good amount of breading) and good flavor. My only ding against this would be wanting the pieces to be bigger.
Handmade Pork Soup Dumpling ($6.89): 3 Stars – I’m always really harsh when judging dumplings as I always put my dad’s dumplings first LOL
Orange Chicken Dry Mix Noodles (level 5 spicy) $19.99: 5 Stars – I will say the amount of chicken provided justifies why the chicken dish cost more than the beef LOL I surprisingly really like it but maybe because I’ve had two orange chicken dish I love at other restaurants but good flavor and again who can say no to a ton of crispy chicken bites 😊
Mala Spicy Beef Dry Mix Noodles (level 5 spicy) $16.99: 4 Stars – So good! Tender and flavor beef bites that came with the noodles but wish they gave more beef cause it was not a lot. Oh and I ordered level 5 but it wasn’t that spicy which was a little disappointing as I was excited about getting my mouth on fire LOL
MENU/RESTAURANT: Very fun and hipster type of restaurant which is not something you expect in that commercial plaza. Fun paper umbrella hanging upside from the ceiling and graffiti style graphic on the big wall when you walk in.
Went on a Monday night so it wasn’t very busy – we actually were the 2nd occupied table when we arrived. Though more and more folks did come in as the night got later. Small place but has a what I think is a decent number of tables. I’m sure on a weeknight, I can see there being a wait.
Electronic menu and ordering online makes it convenient but heads up I think their system is a little glitchy when it comes to deals and customization.
SERVICE: I honestly cant say much about the services as we didn’t really see anyone besides the time we arrive to get a table and getting our food. To me that’s not a bad thing since I don’t like talking to people but I do wish when dropping the food off they would explain what it is. Having a party of 7 and everyone ordering a ton of food, especially different style of the same food (i.e. dumpling, noodles, etc.) we didn’t really know what some of things were. We had to stop her from leaving the 3rd time and ask her to explain what she...
Read moreIt’s okay. Just mid. I have a few points I want to make apparent though.
When I first walked in and saw the sign that said leave a review and get a free drink, I was excited. I had high hopes for this place and expected to give a good review and get a free drink. However, I’d rather honestly go pay for boba somewhere else as I don’t think I could write a good review.
It’s extremely expensive that it’s ridiculous. Being chinese myself, there’s no reason that regular noodles with no added sides or anything should cost $17. Matter of fact, they charge you $2 PER item that should already be added on. For example, BiangBiang noodles in Seattle charges $18 a bowl with everything in there, eggs, sour veggies, everything that should’ve been included in the first place. If you want to eat an authentic bowl of noodles here with all of the veggies, it would cost you over $30 maybe even $40. Not to mention, the cabbage is plain, extra $2 for plain cabbage I could cut myself. Come on, a whole cabbage is literally $3. This felt like a scam to me.
Taste wise? The fried tofu is horrible, I mean the texture is there, but it tasted like fried oil, no taste to then tofu besides fridge burn. Roujiamo shows a picture of 2 for $10 but it’s actually only 1 for $10. It tastes stale, no texture what so ever.
Also I hate how they make you give tip before you’re even serviced. You have to order through the QR code and pay tip beforehand which is ridiculous. My husband and I usually ALWAYS tip 20% min, but do to this we tipped only 15%. How can I tip you on a service I haven’t received yet?
Lastly, I don’t think I would go all out like this until I read some reviews and saw this place’s response to criticism and feedback, which is unprofessional. My husband is in the server industry, and actually was a manager of the biggest food chains in both china and u.s. I’m also a business owner and customer service is both of our priorities, so for me to see responses from the owner accusing people of trying to be cheap or order meat on a veggie bowl when you have to pay for extra meat in the first place is actually really embarrassing. I don’t think I’ll...
Read moreI've never wanted to write a bad review for a place especially since I also work in customer service but it was really disappointing. I came in from seeing the good reviews on TikTok about the food. They had a board in the entrance stating they are understaffed and apologize for any negligence but it was just straight up bad customer service. My boyfriend and I came in and stood at the entrance for a good 5 mins and just gave the waitress time since we knew that she clearly saw us but she was busy waiting on tables. No greetings. We saw that they had QR codes to be on the waitlist and proceeded to do so, I made eye contact with 3 of the staffs that were there yet not a single Hello or asking us to wait for them. What made me write this review was the waitress that waiting the tables in the front. She clearly saw both us standing in the front and while she handed stuff for the table near us she just walked back to her desk and stood there after taking a sip of her water and stared at the wall. Like I stated I work in customer service and understand the stress that comes along with the job but you can at least say hi to your customers. I don't want to assume that she didn't like it that we were there but sure felt like it when she just gave us a black stare. I was hoping to try this place out but I feel like the staff can be trained better because a single hello is the most basic skill set. You should always greet every customer that comes through the door. The place is decorated very nicely and the food at each table looked very nice as well. Hoping to get a better experience next time! Maybe it was just a bad or busy day for everyone in the restaurant and higher hopes for next time! Another note, we left after 10min of standing there and not a...
