Disclosure: I grew up in NYC and nothing can beat (or come close to) my fond childhood memories of take out, hole-in-the-wall Chinese food, pizza, sketchy fried chicken spots, or heck even a warmed bagel with cream cheese on a cold autumn morning from the corner bodega.
That said, Le China is okay. Maybe if you’re from Ohio (lol) this would be great. It’s a little bland but fine when you’re in the mood for quick Chinese food takeout. Located at the Publix Water Tower area, right along the strip that includes Mulligan’s pub, Little Greek, and the carpet store.
They have dinner combos for $14-$19, where you can pick a soup, a side like fried rice or lo mein, add an eggroll, and the main dish. They serve the classic dishes like sweet and sour pork, general tso’s, beef and broccoli, orange chicken, pepper beef, boneless ribs etc. They also have items that you don’t see often in other take out Chinese places, like hibachi chicken (or other meats), Singapore noodles, Taiwan eggplant with garlic sauce.
I liked the chicken lo mein and the fried wonton strips that came with the soup stayed crispy and are great to snack on.
I always order online for pick up. The food comes out fast. There’s not much of an atmosphere to the dining area but the people are friendly and they always add an extra something if you get a large order. Last time they put in a container that had these fried balls, topped with mayo. Inside was soft, kinda spongy and had seafood. It might have been crispy but I left it inside the container, thinking it was some sort of sweet pastry (I didn’t know it was mayo), and I didn’t try it until I...
Read moreMy family and I have been coming here for a few years now. The owner and the chefs are very nice and accommodating. the staff is friendly as well. It can get busy with take out for both lunch and dinner. We lived in LA, CA for 14 years and miss the food quality we had there.... this was a pleasant surprise when we found it. The portions are smaller than LA but the quality is on par or better than that found in LA. My husband is Chinese and his favorite is the pork fried rice, egg drop soup. I love the : General Tso, Orange Chicken, Mongolian Beef, and above all the Orange Beef is my favorite! My daughters and my son all like the Sesame chicken, wonton soup, egg roll, sweet and sour chicken & pork.
We bring my husbands family and freinds when they are in town and have never had a bad dish at any time. The owner and cook can make any dish not on the menu for those that are from Hong Hong and want something they are more familiar with. My grandmother-in-law loves it and she is from Hong Kong.
The only thing i wish they had would be bigger portions. 3 growing kids with ravinious stomachs need a...
Read moreThis place is hit or miss. I can see why the reviews go from 5-stars to 1-star. We order from here once in a while because we are Celebration residents and miss our NYC Chinese food terribly. Certain items are wonderful, other items not so much. The Egg Drop and Hot and Sour Soups are good. We generally avoid all the appetizers which could be of better quality, especially the Prawn Crackers and Egg Rolls :-(. The standard chicken, beef and pork dishes are very, very good and remind us of NYC Chinese which, let's face it, is the best in the country. Always hot and plentiful. One dish can easily feed two people. We especially love Chicken with Black Bean Sauce and any protein with mixed or Chinese vegetables. Their fried rice is quite tasty as well. As far as seafood, they only offer shrimp. We wish there was a mixed seafood option. The 2 young Chinese ladies who work there are delightful. Service is fast and efficient, and the restrooms are very clean. Again, just be selective in what you order and...
