Beautiful place, quality food & drinks that come with Portland prices. Paid $17 to try the crab Rangoon dip. đđ» Came with 8 chips literally, 4 on each side of the crab dip.
When the bartender asked how it was I said it was ok & I commented on the tiny portion of chips. She said, âyes I thought the portion looked a little small, do you want me to put in an order for more?â
(For the bartender who waited on usâAs a former server why bartender did you not speak up to the kitchen? If you questioned it & you know it didnât look right why did you serve it to your guests?!? Especially at that price?! Also expressing your annoyance about anything to a guest is not pleasant & diminishes the guests dining experience. I love Christmas music and was bopping my head to the tunes when you mentioned how itâs only Dec.2 and youâre SO over the holiday music.)
As far as chips, at first we said sure weâll take more. But after a literal minute passed we asked if they started cooking the chips already & she said no. So we politely asked to please tell them never mind. This was Due to the fact we didnât feel like waiting another 30+ minutes for 8 more home made chips.
So as the bartender is walking in the kitchen and while the door is still open she says, âoh my gaaawdâ with an attitude/tone of extreme annoyance. Door closed & heard nothing else. I sat at the end of the bar by the kitchen door. Very easy to hear while door is open. Great way to leave people feeling like they do not want to return to support this local business.
The crab Rangoon dip tastes like fresh crab yes but then just thick cheese w/ sweet chili sauce, nothing like traditional crab Rangoon flavor. The chips are extremely thin and crumble when you dip them.
Never complained about another visit back when it happened but last night really annoyed me soâŠâŠ.
I had the steak dinner special back on V-Day.
Waited over 5 minutes for anyone to even greet us all while 3 waitresses stood by the bar gabbing. Waited well over 30 mins for 2 appetizers and then steak dinners come out no more than 5 minutes later. Terrible timing for a dining experience at a place like this. We still had more than half of our appetizers. Steak was super fatty, tough & not worth the price. Purple potatoes looked rotten. It was not a favorable meal but we never complained.
Dirty dishes, empty glasses left on the small crowded table all while our waitress walked by multiple times. Finally I piled it all up right by the edge to make it as obvious as possible & another waitress eventually cleared it. âFull hands in, full hands outâ is a helpful concept in server world.
Feels like itâs hit or miss but wonât be back either way. Sometimes staff is super friendly but sometimes they have a very pompous or pretentious attitude like the brunette bartender last night.
The other times Iâve gone in there was a friendly & professional blonde bartender.
The chicken poppers are reasonably priced and taste delicious. It does lack consistency as far as smaller bite size bites or bigger bites where you need to cut them. But the flavor is always the same...
Read moreI anticipated so much more. Our waitress Emily was wonderful and took our allergies seriously.
We started by ordering a cocktail and mocktail. After putting our order in she came back around for our food order. My husband is celiac so we were excited to see that menu items were listed as GF so he knew exactly what he could have. After picking a gluten free item we were told that several modifications had to be made to make it gluten free, including not having the Brussel sprouts because they go in a shared fryer. Again, found this odd, but if they have a substitution that wasn't a problem, so my husband ended up with the option of sautéed spinach. After getting our order in, his dinner salad ended up coming out and several minutes later we finally got our drinks. Mine supposedly had gin and champagne in it...I didn't taste a hint of alcohol, so I chalked it up to it just being that particular drink. When our food arrived I ordered a second cocktail, the sombrero on fire, in hopes of a drink with some more pizzaz. I had the seared scallops with corn and risotto. My scallops were cooked to perfection, and the risotto was I suppose what you'd expect, nothing mind blowing. My husband's steak was very cisco-esque and underwhelming for the price point. My second cocktail didn't come out until our meal was completely done. It was smoked and that feature was fun and added amazing aromatics to the drink. The alcohol was a Serrano infused tequila but I think they forgot the tequila... I love spicy and the Serrano was so overwhelming I didn't finish the drink. If there had been an appropriate amount of tequila in the beverage it would have cut thru the heat and left that bite, but unfortunately it was just a spicy juice. My husband's mocktail on the other hand was an alcohol free spirit that he said was very good and actually tasted quite a bit like the real thing! We finished things off with creme brulee that he was not a fan of but I actually really enjoyed. Overall, super disappointed and won't be back unfortunately. Hopefully they take my review as constructive and not just a rant....the environment was lovely and had a fantastic vibe and could be something really special. I just don't want to spend almost $150 for a night out and feel...
Read moreI have never stayed in Klamath Falls so I have never sought out good food. I'm glad I was caught in a storm and discovered BMB. This place, in my opinion is almost out of place for Klamath but that's a good thing. The overall feel is downtown of your favorite city but I didnt feel weird walking in with snow clothes on, however a tie would have fit in too. It's a really good vibe and if I were local I could see it being the evening and late night spot. It's a bar, but also a nice lounge, and also a restaurant you could take a date too and impress her with the ambiance. They serve food until late and we had the Cajun tots, Mac & Cheese with steak, Lime steak skewers and Avocado rolls. Each item was impeccably prepped and presented however the prices seriously felt like cheap dining. Easily 50-60% below their value in my experiences. The food quality is absolutely top notch and what I am use to for fine dining in places like SF and Portland. The dipping sauces with each plate intermingled great and we left feeling full with some take home mac however the food was not heavy feeling. Our cocktails were created by a friendly bartender named Mike and we even got to meet the chef briefly as it was a quiet night. Will be back for sure and will even plan the stop to visit again when traveling between Tahoe...
