Hubby loves Jersey Mike’s- and Knightdale has always been our favorite location even though we live in Clayton now. So, I ordered online as I was headed that way. Apparently the order was not received. (Are you sure you ordered from here? Are you sure it went through?) I was asked if I had the confirmation, I ran to the car (with my 8 year old) to get my phone, showed them, and they said they didn’t have the order. No biggie, I said, I’ll just order now. There was quite a line, it was dinner 5 pm. As we waited, I looked at my bank account and see the charge for the 3 giant subs. I show them it had come out of my account as well and ask if it would be charged twice and they asked if I could call my bank.
At this point, I asked why? I said, “you know what, never mind, don’t worry about it, I’ll eat somewhere else tonight.” As I get in the car, I see that two charges have come out of my account from Jersey Mike’s. So I do call the bank. When I return to the restaurant and ask to speak with the manager, a young lady comes out to speak with me (the one who originally asked me to call my bank), she says she needs to see the confirmation email again. At this point I am over the entire situation and only want a refund while the woman from the bank is trying to explain that our account has indeed been debited twice.
Kel Johnson- the manager, appears, introduces himself, and I was a bit difficult at first, all things considered. Kel was awesome! He deescalated the situation with ease, took time to listen to what occurred, and put up with now what was a more difficult customer because of what had transpired. He leveled with me in that the charges should be reversed, once he spoke with I.T. and if not, I could call and speak with him and offered to make the food that I had originally ordered, which he did.
Kudos to Kel, the manager should have been called out in the first place. Not sure what was going on in...
Read moreI had a wonderful experience recently when placing an order for a party I was having for my husband and since Jersey Mike's is his favorite sub place, this was a no-brainer when it came to what to serve at his party. I contacted the place in Knightdale and spoke with Roxanne, a manager. I explained that the online ordering for sub boxes looked too complicated and I wanted to meet with someone to place the order. She immediately said to pop by and she would be happy to help. I went in early the next day (before it got too busy) and we quickly came up with my party order - Roxanne was helpful and made wonderful suggestions as well as accommodated my requests (oil and vinegar on the side). Easy breezy! And then she did something extra - called me on the day of pick-up to let me know my order was ready and waiting for me. Not only that but I had also ordered a special sub (besides the sub boxes) for my husband and someone had written "Happy Birthday" on it - very thoughtful! The boxes of subs were a huge success - there was something for everyone (even a vegetarian). I won't hesitate to let Jersey Mike's cater another event in the future - THANK YOU, Knightdale...
Read moreI went into the store tonight (Friday, Dec 7) and had an awful experience. Here’s what happened — a young lady took my order for a hot sandwich and I stressed wheat bread. Somehow the order was made incorrectly by the cook and placed on white bread instead. When the cook realized the sandwich was wrong he told the young lady who took my order that she didn’t circle wheat. She scolded him and then the two of them huddled over the sandwich near the grill. Within 2 mins she handed me a sandwich. I asked her was this the same sandwich just placed on different bread and she sheepishly said ‘yes.’ So instead of remaking the hot sandwich correctly, they chose to scrap the other sandwich’s contents into different bread. I rejected the sandwich, politely asked for refund and left the store furious at the poor customer service (long wait for my initial order), awful food handling procedures and just plain old deceptive tactics — all to avoid making a new sandwich according to the way it was ordered.
I don’t go to this location often but I’ve never had such a terrible experience in this store or any other...
