I grew up in Laconia, but have since moved to the Midwest. My children who remember our last visit to NH all demanded that Sal's Pizza be at the top of our priorities for places to visit when back East. This list was not just food places. Sal's, Weirs Beach, the Ocean, Lake Winnipesaukee, White Mountains. That was the impression that the pizza left on my family. Our experience this past week was no disappointment. We had a large gathering of family and ordered 6 pizzas. The pizzas were hot and fresh when we picked them up. I appreciate the variety of toppings and flavors (traditional, sweet chicken chili, buffalo chicken, etc...) The staff was friendly in spite of it being very busy when we arrived. The pizza is a great value for the quality of product! For those in the reviews commenting on mask wearing; all staff were wearing masks when we picked up our pizza. Additionally, there was a huge plexiglass wall between us and the staff. Sal's in Laconia appeared to be concerned about the well-being and health of their customers. Perhaps they have made those adjustments in the past...
Read moreThis is a franchise restaurant not independent.
You can tell when you enter there's a lack of care about what the place looks like. The service was good enough.
The house dressing is a "creamy Caesar". The strangest Caesar dressing I've ever seen. It didn't taste bad but it had the look of snot.
The antipasto salad was fine. My girlfriend was disappointed it didn't have tomatoes.
The pizza was good. My girlfriend asked for a side of tomato sauce to add to her pizza, as expected for a franchise restaurant the sauce tasted like tomato paste with some water added.
What attracted me to try this place was the Google photos. But once you get inside you feel a little bamboozled because the photos were from a time when the owner/manager had more care for the place.
Scuff marks all over the walls, storage room door wide open to see random things, dirty tables, staff moving slowly, no custom pizza boxs. Barely call it table service. You'll get paper plates and takeout containers. You'll have to get your own hot peppers flakes and cheese up front.
I was really hoping for something...
Read moreMy family and I are on vacation and decided to order from Sal’s for our last night. We ordered a large pizza, Buffalo wings, and a salad. The blue cheese and ranch were missing from our order, and the pizza wasn’t cut right. I called just to ask for the dressing for the Buffalo wings to be delivered; I’ve worked in food service/retail and wanted to let the manager know that our pizza wasn’t cut right (it was a mix of triangles and squares, and I know quality control can either make or break you!). I talked to the manager on duty, Jonathan, and he was patient and understanding. He took the time to talk to me, and let me know there was someone new working. He asked for pictures of the pizza as a teaching tool (that was huge for me, being a good manager is taking the time to help new employees). I just wanted to let him know how it showed up, and I wasn’t upset at all, but he still went above and beyond to make things right. The food is delicious, and when we come back for vacation, I will definitely be ordering from...
