I've been eating at the Soda Shoppe since I was a young boy. I can still remember the plaque explaining how a deer crashed through their window in the 70's! To be honest, I didn't think things would go well when ownership changed hands a few short years ago. Of course, I was proven wrong. The food is still amazing, the prices are still low, the service is still amazing, and they have even expanded into the Tilton Franklin area (Which I haven't had the pleasure of visiting yet). The decor hasn't changed, and if you have ever been there you will understand why. They aren't flashy like franchises like Applebees, and they aren't poorly designed retro like the Tilt'n Diner... The natural wood is a nice change from newer style restaurants, and the three dining rooms they have keep the noise level down so you don't have to yell across the table to hear your friends and family.

Its a diner but for around the same price you can find the same kinds of plates with much higher quality else where in the area. The soda shop is apart of my childhood. I have many memories of walking across the hydro station bridge to the soda shoppe for lunch. One thing they've always done right is their milk shakes!! As kids we always got a kick out of the legend of the famous 🦌 that suddenly came crashing thru one of the windows and into the restaurant. If you do find yourself at the soda shoppe be sure to look for the table with a deer figurine and order a chocolate frappe. Or strawberry or vanilla...
