It was a rainy day when we had visited, but that did not stop us from taking some pictures and enjoy the beautiful scenery! Built in 1823, the Belknap Mill is the only one of its kind left today! The mill was in operation until 1969, and at that time it was producing socks. In 1970 the mill was given the name of the Belknap Mill Society. Become a member, and support the mill. The way they have preserved is fascinating. You can actually see how the water was used to power the mill. The mill is gives school tours that are interactive. On the day we visited, the door was open (helpful since we desperately needed to use the restrooms), but there was a sign on the check-in desk that said they were closed.
