I called on 2/19 around 7 p.m. to speak with someone in regards to the buffet. A woman picked up the phone and without saying anything to me, she immediately layed the phone down and started talking to someone else. I first assumed that she was speaking to a customer, I could hear everything she was saying very clearly. But then 3 minutes into me holding, she started talking about her personal life.. Once it got to 7 minutes of me holding, I started saying hello very loudly and still she said nothing. She continued on with her conversation. I realized after 9 minutes of holding that she was on her personal phone. Right at the 15- minute mark of me holding she told the person that she was talking to, to call her later. She then picked up the phone that I was on, and hung up immediately. I called right back and asked for her name. She said, "this is Fried Tomato buffet and why do you want to know my name"? I told her that I had some questions and want to know who I'm speaking with, just in case I need to follow up. Of course I said this because I knew that she would not give me her name after I address what just took place. She said her name was Jackie, I then asked her for a manager. She said that she was the assistant manager on duty, I asked her for the manager higher than her. She said she was the only one there. I asked her for the name of the manager higher than her, she said she could not give out that information. I then began to address the situation that occurred and told her that I did not appreciate how she treated me and my family. She informed me that she had a death in the family and apologized for leaving me on hold. I would have believed her story, had I not been listening to the entire conversation for 15 minutes straight. It had absolutely nothing to do with a death in the family, and even if it did you're at work. You're stealing time, you're not doing your job. You're not working with integrity. You're at work and would leave a customer on hold for 15 minutes while you have a personal conversation on your cell phone. And then when you're done, you don't even address the customer, instead you hung up. I have been to my fair share of restaurants and this is the absolute worst customer service I have ever encountered! I'm not sure how she became a manager but I hope that she is reprimanded and demoted due to her lack of honesty, integrity, and loyalty to the company as well as the customers. I'm not sure if her real name is Jackie, however I decided to visit this location that very night 5 minutes after speaking with her and found out that the woman I spoke to has a bob with bangs in the front, blonde streaks in her hair and is an older white woman. Read moreWe have eaten here several times. The food is okay....Golden Coral is better! On our last visit we arrived at 8:15. Since you pay before you eat we didn't see the buffet until after we payed and found a table. At 8:15 half of the food was out and the restaurant was still full of customers, a lot of which just had paid to eat, like us. They never replaced any of that food and the rest was quickly cleaned out as well! Many of us were just beginning our meal and there were only a few vegetables and NO meat and NO desserts and NO bread!!! We just left since there was nothing to eat. On our way out, we complained to the staff and were told that they quit putting out food at 8:30 but that they make sure the bar is full then. NOT TRUE!!!!! When we told them that we wouldn't have eaten there if we had known this .... that they should let you know this when you pay, we were told "We are not allowed to tell you until after 8:30 and you got here at 8:15.
