We dined with a party of friends who had been here before and gave it high praise. We were only able to get a 9 PM reservation and the place was absolutely packed even that late at night, so we were feeling optimistic going in. I really love the steampunk atmosphere and the old cartoon loop on the televisions. There are a ton of bars around the restaurant which would be a cool place to hang out after work.
Service was average, which shouldn't be the case for a restaurant that presents itself like The Edison does. One of the main issues is that our cocktails didn't arrive until after the entrees, and we simply got a "sorry" when we informed staff. This is really disappointing since we ordered drinks off the "high rollers" menu, which you would think would be prioritized, since you know, they're over $30. Additionally two members of the party ordered the short rib and we were informed long after ordering that they were out, something our waiter should have known beforehand. The wandering 'drink fairy' offering $10 shots was tacky and awkward.
Electri-fries - The fries themselves were good and the bacon, cheese and sauce (thousand island) was too, but nothing really stood out to justify a $16 appetizer.
The Edison burger - This was really nothing more than a $25 bacon cheese burger. While it was good and cooked exactly as I requested, it was another menu item that really does nothing to justify it's price or stand out in any way. I can get this same burger at Chili's.
Cristóbal's Revenge "high roller" cocktail - this was nothing more than a gimmick and borderline scam. For $38, you would expect an elaborate drink, maybe in a funky glass/mug or some type of show or presentation as it is served to you. None of these things happen with this drink and there is absolutely no justification for why they feel the need to charge this amount of money. The silly coin you get with it (collect four and you get a free high roller drink) just plays into the gimmick and I felt cheated. I should have known there was a reason why there were no pictures or mentions of this one. Absolutely skip it, and probably the rest of the drinks on that menu.
The live entertainment, a 20's themed cover group, was not good. The covers of Justin Bieber and 'Call Me Maybe' were not good and the songs just didn't fit the atmosphere.
Most importantly, the food was good which is why I'm putting this at a 3 and not lower. I cannot say I would return here...
Read moreLet me start off by saying I have a 2 year old and a 4 week old that we took here and we arrived around 6pm. Who in their right mind decides to sit us directly in front of the main stage where a live performance was scheduled to start less than an hour from when we arrived? Music was extremely loud from that table. Thankfully they moved us to behind the bar and that area was much better. The atmosphere was pretty cool and as my sister pointed out, if you're going there for that experience and the drinks, it's probably a decent place. As for food, out of the 5 adults, 4 of them were unhappy with their food. Very bland chicken, they didn't season the NY Strip 🥩 and I guess expected the chimichurri to add flavor at the time of consumption. My burger tasted like ground beef on its own with zero seasoning and my bottom bun was cut at an angle with about 1/4 of it missing and the other half was soggy. The half chicken was dry but the potatoes were decently flavored. My fries were decent. My sister's NY Strip was overcooked. My gf ordered an amaretto sour and they tried to charge her $3 for ICE (Rocks) that we didn't even ask for when ordering. For the price they are charging for their food, it should be way better than it was. We also had an issue when applying our Disney annual pass because we had a table of 5 adults, one 2 year old (we didn't even order her food), and one infant, so they considered us a table of 6+ and applied a mandatory 18% gratuity. No big deal because I understand that's how it works at most of these places. It does suck for them because I usually tip 20-30% minimum. The issue was we split the check into two parties and they left the 18% but wouldn't take the pass for both checks. After some back and forth with the server and two managers, they accepted the annual pass and left the 18% on there. The table directly next to us heard some of our frustration and we're in 100% agreement that the place is absolutely not worth it. They even mentioned it was their first and last time ever going there. Overall I cannot recommend this place but I will recommend people stay away from it unless you like bland/flavorless food, subpar service, ridiculous pricing, and a...
Read moreWhere do I even begin. We were interested in trying the Edison for the first time to try out a different restaurant here at Disney springs. What a disappointment. Walked in to see no one around then we noticed a lady standing behind the desk looking down and playing with her phone. Not once did she look up. We walked outside to take a couple pictures came back in and she still did not acknowledge us at all. We had to walk up to her and let her know that we were there to dine in and she rudely said to go downstairs. We were then greeted by a gentleman that was our server and pretty much sat us down and walked away for the longest. He finally came back he placed our order and it was absolutely disgusting. The burgers weren't even cooked the way we ordered it, and the bacon had a nasty taste, sad to say that even something so simple as the bacon to not taste fresh. They only had tomato soup which was very sour and very salty, we Nick much better soup than what we were served. There should have been at least two different types of food to choose from, unfortunately there was only one. We also ordered pork fried skin which wasn't even hot nor tasted fresh, that should be something that should be fried and cooked to order. The only thing that was hot for the fries. The menu is way overpriced. The other entrees were just as bad. Even on the way out it was the same lady and she never even acknowledged us walking by nor did she say anything to us. At the very least thank you for dining with us or have a nice day or something. From the service right from the start to the food we will definitely not be returning and definitely will share with our friends and family to let them know. We thought at the very least the manager would visit our table so we can express our dissatisfaction and we did not even see one around. With the high prices in the quality of the food the Edison serves, They should be ashamed serving that type of food. You simply don't treat you're...
