First review 5 stars all around: Delicious tacos & drinks! Great customer service! Asia was attentive and sweet, and Juliette was super friendly and informative! Will be back! Second review way different experience: I have to be honest, I had forgotten about torchy's tacos for whatever reason, and had not been in over a year. During my last visit, I was so impressed by the customer service and food that I bragged about how good everything was and decided to give it another shot. However, last night's experience was such a bust that I'm hesitant to return anytime soon. A friend and I decided to go around 7 pm on a Sunday. When we got there, there was a decent number of people already sitting and a few in front of us waiting to order. Behind us, though, there were a good 10 ppl that showed up from a tournament in town, and I could see that the restaurant was extremely understaffed for this amount of volume. I've worked many years in the service industry, so I totally understand being short staffed and overwhelmed. However, there was no clear manager on duty, and I could tell that the other two girls working did not know how to handle this situation at all. We get up to the register, and immediately, the girl walks away for a good few minutes. Mind you, there are a good 15 people in line at this point. I'm sure she went to talk to the kitchen to give them a heads up, but perhaps there was a better way of communicating than leaving a line of people waiting. She finally returns, only for the other girl to start a conversation with her for another couple minutes (what looked to be complaining). Finally she addresses us and we go to give our order. She informs us there will be a 20 min wait on food. No worries, I say, we were going to have a drink anyway and didn't mind the wait. She then stops us from answering the phone. Another poor decision made and not very considerate, especially since we had been waiting for 5 min at the register just to place our order. The second girl then walks up, so we moved to her register to finally place the order. We get our drinks quickly, and the chips & queso come out about 20 min later, but the queso is cold. Again, no worries... I'm sure the kitchen is slammed, and the queso was still delicious, just not warm like one would expect. An hour, it took an hour to get 3 tacos that also came out cold. In that hour, I observed a few things. Number one, there needs to be a manager who takes control of the flow of the restaurant. Number two, there 100% needs to be more staff. I'm not sure how many cooks were in the back but there were only two young girls in the front of the house taking orders, doing to go's (which seemed to be alot), making drinks, and answering the phone. Number three, train your staff better on customer service/etiquette. When you have a line of people, that should be your first priority, not answering the phone for to go orders or having a full-on conversation with the only other front of the house worker. Also, sweeping behind the bar 4xs is not a priority when you have a packed restaurant with tons of people waiting. Number four, the bartender should really be making drinks on top of the bar mat where you can see, not underneath the counter where you can't see if you are actually getting a double shot/ top shelf/ or what exactly they are putting in your drink. Number five, if you are going to have a wait, that's fine, but an hour, wait for 3 tacos that are cold coming out is unacceptable! Also, the taco of the month that's showcased should be a great taco. On paper, it sounded amazing but was underwhelming in person

We love the food here however my daughter had a little piece of black wire in her burrito in our delivery order just now so I’m really disappointed with their negligence. Wasted money. Now we’re afraid to eat any of it. *Wow, I am updating it to let everyone know that I just called and spoke to a manager who basically told me I was lying said there’s no way it came from their restaurant because they don’t use anything with wire when I said maybe it came off someone’s jewelry or something. She said jewelry is not allowed. Well I’m sitting here telling her look this was in the burrito when it got here it came from your restaurant. She argued with me and hung up on me. She definitely should not be manager, I was not rude at all. I called to discuss trying to figure out what this wire is, that’s it I wasn’t making any demands or asking for anything. I just wanted to know where this wire came from. She was so rude, unapologetic, and unprofessional. What really bothers me is she has zero interest in trying to figure out where the wire came from to prevent this from happening again so as long as this manager is at this location, we will not be eating there again and it’s crazy because literally I just took my whole family there for my daughter’s birthday. We like the food so much. We ordered delivery today so this is very upsetting. **editing again to add that today (a day later) the manager admitted in an email to me that this is bristles from their cleaning brush. I’m wondering how many other people’s food yesterday had metal brush bristles in it. All of the bins with the food used to make the grande burrito should have been combed through and not served the rest of the day. Food is yummy here. Good luck swallowing metal bristles tho.

My recent visit to Torchy's Tacos in Lake Charles, Louisiana, brought back fond memories of my first Torchy's experience at Rice Village in Houston. Much to my delight, this location lived up to the high standards set by its predecessors, offering a culinary journey filled with Tex-Mex goodness. One of my go-to favorites, the Brushfire Jerk Chicken Tacos, did not disappoint. The perfect blend of flavors, from the spicy kick of the jerk chicken to the coolness of the toppings, left my taste buds tingling with satisfaction. Torchy's commitment to quality ingredients and bold flavors shines through in every bite, making these tacos truly unforgettable. But the Brushfire Jerk Chicken Tacos are just the beginning of Torchy's culinary delights. Their diverse menu boasts a variety of offerings, each crafted with the same attention to detail and flavor that has made Torchy's a beloved Tex-Mex destination. Beyond the delicious food, the atmosphere at Torchy's Tacos in Lake Charles is inviting and vibrant, providing the perfect backdrop for enjoying a meal with friends or family. The friendly staff adds to the overall experience, ensuring that every visit is met with warm hospitality. In conclusion, Torchy's Tacos in Lake Charles, Louisiana, lives up to its reputation of serving "DAMN GOOD" tacos. Whether you're a fan of the Brushfire Jerk Chicken Tacos or eager to explore their other offerings, a visit to Torchy's is sure to satisfy your cravings for Tex-Mex excellence.
