Being in this place last night was like watching the Hindenburg go down and having to order a burger in the crater.
There was garbage on every surface in the kitchen, on the floor of the dining room, old order numbers strewn about the order counter. The custard machine was visibly broken as it was leaking every flavor of custard onto the surrounding piles of trash and onto the floor. It looked like they had just been robbed or an explosion went off or something.
Absolutely no one seemed to be trained. The poor cashier was getting no support on what seemed like his first day. The rest of the staff aside from the one cook appeared to be doing absolutely nothing. No one was collecting trash, no one was restocking the fountain drink station for lids and napkins, no one was taking orders out to cars. It was like they were under some spell or something that meant no more than two out of the ten of them were allowed to move at time.
It took 40 minutes to get my single value basket. It is a miracle my order was correct, because there was a line of people trying to get assistance for incorrect order after incorrect order. Receipts were not being given out and the expediter just accused the people of lying more than once, in between giving dirty looks and the cold shoulder.
One person was given only half of his order, which also was cold and didn’t have any of the toppings he requested. He had a piece of cheese and some ketchup packets in a bowl tossed to him and told to deal with it. Another lady ordered 10 chicken tenders at the drive through, was only given six. She was told they’d make more, and 20 minutes later she asked about them and was told they don’t sell 10 piece tenders and she’d just have to order more. Basically everyone had some kind of incorrect order that took four times as long as any other location.
I cannot overstate how surreal it was to be in there. I’ve never had a stranger or worse fast food experience anywhere.
Other reviews have called this location the worst culvers in Wisconsin and that is probably true. The new PB&J pub burger was...
Read moreIf you ever wanted to know what it’s like to experience the “before” part of Kitchen Nightmares, this is probably the best place to do it, though I think that even Gordon Ramsey might just nope out of this Culver’s. I love Culver’s in general, but this definitely wins not only the “worst Culver’s” award, but also the “worst restaurant I’ve ever walked into” award. It was like a tornado had sucked away the management of this restaurant and anyone assigned to cleaning and left a bunch of minors to try to clean up the mess with no training and only snarky comments from senior staff to help. I felt bad for the kid taking my order as he did not receive help, despite asking for assistance, and was the only person seeming to try to do their job. One employee was yelling at customers and giving people cold food and wrong orders, and then claiming that the customers were lying even after the customers showed receipts. It took well over 45 minutes to order food, give my order three times (because he didn’t know how to put orders into the system and no one was bothering to help him), and then receive my burnt burger and melted concrete mixer. After looking through reviews of this location, it appears this location has been like this for at least a year. This is a blight on Culver’s reputation and I fully expect to get a bland, corporate response like everyone else that’s left a review here.
Edit: I got the a bland corporate response hours after I had a bland corporate response after reaching out on the contact Culver’s website they’re pointing everyone to. I can’t tell if I’m talking to a robot or if the GM simply does not care about their store or their customers, but either way, it’s sad to see a blight on the reputation...
Read moreI don't usually go to the location in Lake Geneva because of where it's located, it can be a little difficult to get to depending on the day. But the day we went I instantly regretted it from the moment we walked in. When I placed the order for my family and I, i do ask if they do the military discount (because the few I frequent usually do, I know it may depend on management, but I digress) this girl waits for me to pay before saying, "But we do offer senior discount.." my mom (who is a senior) stands there and tells her that she is one and the girl just says, "Well, it's too late to apply it now" so I had to just tell my mom to move on. We had to wait like 20 min. For a burger, chicken sandwich, a salad, and 2 scoops of custard. When a guy was asked to get my custard on my order he rolled his eyes and proceeded to do it like he had other things to do. I frequent Culvers enough to know how a burger comes. This one should have come with lettuce, tomato, pickles, and onions. I asked the girl who took the order to please leave off the onions due to an allergy. She said it literally didnt come with anything on it, but yet the picture on the menu and how I order it show what I just listed off. She proceeded to say how the menu was "misleading". This was maybe the 2nd time in 10 years that I've gone to this location. I think I'll just stick to the...
