Grandma Vickie's Cafe — Restaurant in Lake Geneva

No soup, no salad, only white or wheat bread, very small grilled cheese sandwich, enough to feed a child, not an adult, never seen a grilled cheese sandwich that small for a whopping $12. No fruit, neither fresh nor canned. No sides of veggies available. The owner talked very loudly to just one customer the entire time; she never welcomed us or talked to us, even though she had plenty of time on her hands. She did no work of any kind the entire 45 minutes we were there. Her chattery conversation with one customer took over the entire room, which subtracted from our privacy or any type of cozy feeling. The final bill was $42 for just 3 of us, and we left still feeling hungry. We frequent many restaurants often and in many surrounding towns, so we have plenty others to choose from, that greatly exceed this restaurant in food option/wide variety, cost value, atmosphere, quantity of food, customer appreciation. It was our first time here and we won't be returning. Very disappointing. Sorry, just being truthful. The Duck Inn, as posh and expensive as it is, would have given us much more food and value, for $50. What does...

First and last time visiting! Don't plan on ever returning! This was our first visit to Lake Geneva it was absolutely beautiful the hotel was amazing! Bacon fest was fun and had great singers. We were looking for a good breakfast place to eat so we googled it and ask hotel staff where this place was located. They kindly told us and also told us about the place across the street called Simple Cafe! It was a small group of us we walked into Grandma Vickie's and immediately felt unwelcomed! We were stared at and we're not treated nicely. Some of us got up and left because it honestly felt like we weren't welcome because of our ethnicity. Hey I'm not going to force my money on you and be treated poorly so we went across the street to check it out at Simply Cafe and we were treated kindly and were welcomed. The staff was amazing and so was the food! It was awesome! We will definitely visit Lake Geneva again and Simple Cafe ! Aunt Vickie's first impressions are important, how you treat strangers...

The food is good, let me start by saying that. The service is HORRIBLE. If you're not a regular here, then you won't be treated right. I don't even know how they get regulars because going there for the 1st time was a bad experience. The waitresses only talked to the regulars.The lady greeting was friendly, but that seemed to be their top priority-greeting. We were seated, and waited 20 mins to be asked what we wanted. It was not even busy... The servers were too busy chatting with their regular customers about family, and whatever they did that day. Wanted to walk out, but hate being rude/causing a scene. Then when she finally took our order she seemed irritated compared to how she was just speaking to her other customers. Very short with us, and we just seemed like outcasts there.
