I didn't rate the food, we didn't eat there. They have a nice, if limited, menu. But the limited menu makes total sense for such a place focused really on the beers, seltzers, and the few wines they have on tap. The Tap House was excellent. We had our dog for the first time on a multiday stay. They were completely welcoming to her, in fact I think they had water dishes ready if I remember, but we carried our own with us. Even if they wouldn't be pet friendly I would highly recommend Tap House. The self-serve concept is actually really cool, the atmosphere was great, all the beers were really good, 50 taps, the outdoor seating area was really nice, the staff were excellent. They earned every star I gave them. I would highly recommend you go here. I see other reviews thought the beer was too expensive. I don't agree. I thought it was very affordable, especially since they have glasses of many sizes you can choose. You can choose to just sample a little or pour a whole pint. The prices seemed to be right in line with other such places we have been. They tell you the price per oz. right on the digital displays for each beer which is a really cool feature to have the digital displays and all the info you get on them. And if you still think the prices are too high, then maybe you shouldn't be visiting Lake Geneva, it's not a cheap place to visit, and out of all the places we went, I thought the Tap House had the best value for my money. If you're that concerned on price, maybe a tourist destination isn't your thing. I thought it was a fantastic experience worth every penny. So much so, we went there two...
Read moreGreat place with over 50 self pour taps of some unique beers, ciders, and wine. As the ladies continued to shop, my buddy and I found this watering hole and it what exactly what we needed. Earlier in the day we stopped at a waterfront restaurant that charged us $8 for a bottle of bud light so we were happy to find Geneva Taphouse. You must provide your ID and credit card upon entering. Service was great the hostess explained the brews and the process. You pay by the ounce and pour what you need. Each Tap has a nice description of the product along with the price per ounce. Different size glasses are provided depending on if your sampling or found your perfect brew. It wasn't busy when we came midweek at noon but imagine in summer it is jumping with the great vibe and atmosphere. We were able to sit outside around a gas firepit on a cool autumn day which felt amazing. Eventually our ladies found us and wish they had been at the Geneva Taphouse instead. I was able to sample over a dozen craft beers without needing to purchase an entire bottle or drink 12 ounces. The moment of truth checking out, remember they have my credit card on file, oh no- what have I done. WOW! ONLY $20 for hanging out for a couple hours on the patio talking with friends. I would do this everyday instead of having two Budlights at that restaurant. They provide you with a list of what you poured at checkout so you can remember your favorites when you return. We will definitely be visiting again next time we are in...
Read moreAlthough the concept of this place is cool, it needs some work. The cool part is that you have this key fob that tracks how much you pour, and you only get charged for what you pour. So you can try as many as you want.
Now for the reasons we won't be back: The prices are insane. At $.50 - $1.00+ per ounce you can really quickly owe $15 just tasting, and a pint glass is going to start at $8 - $10. My wife didn't notice with her first beer (because the screens don't show dollar signs and it's our first time here) so ended up paying $16 for a pint of Outboard.
They don't have small tasting glasses and trays/boards that you can carry back to your table, so that means everyone is standing around the taps tasting, which means it's crowded. I'd rather have a bunch of small glasses that I could take back to the table and sample there
There are 2 single-person bathrooms in the whole place, so the line to pee is pretty long
Geneva Tap House is a cool concept, but they don't serve anything you couldn't find at Woodman's, only for triple the price. And they need some serving boards and small glasses so that people are at the tables talking rather than standing around the taps. And yeah, these are lake geneva prices so that's fine, but at least put a dollar sign by it so we can be aware of what...
