Make your plans, bring your dice, and set your course for a visit with Yolanda—the living steward of a sacred site in tabletop lore.
Where others might have claimed the house and rewritten its story, Yolanda chose instead to attune herself to its spirit. She didn’t just preserve its history—she leveled up with it. Flourishing alongside the home’s legacy, she has become both its guardian and storyteller, weaving herself into the tale.
Original furnishings and relics remain like artifacts from a high-tier quest: curated, cherished, and offered freely to those who seek them. From the living room where dice first danced, to Gary's writing room—where legends were penned—and the mythic basement below, Yolanda guides you through each chamber like a Dungeon Master with both wisdom and heart.
She begins your journey with a short historical video, then leads you room by room through the house where D&D didn’t just begin-it breathed. And like any good campaign, the house is in constant evolution. New displays, new memories, and an ever-growing sense that this isn't just a monument to the past, but a living story still being written.
There’s even a nearby “AirD&D” for those who wish to stay immersed.
If Dungeons & Dragons means something to you—if you’ve ever lost yourself in a character, found fellowship at a table, or felt magic in shared imagination—go. Go support this place. I know you have the dice to bless if you're...
Read moreWe are a Canadian family on a year long trip that will bring us across the Americas. We stopped at Lake Geneva to visit Gary Gygax's home, where he created the D&D game as a young man and established the TSR company. A modest little house owned by a charming lady, Yolanda, who had no idea of the house's past when she bought it. You can rent the place with your D&D party to play in there (totally cool) but in our case we just wanted to have a look (I am not travelling with my D&D party!). She kindly agreed to allow us in and around the house, which has been kept in its original state. Yolanda shared with us some interesting information about GG and his family. I organized a zoom session with my D&D friends so they can do the visit with me and my family. A must see for any D&D fan! Make sure you grab a tshirt while...
Read moreYolanda, the owner and steward of the house is so knowledgeable about the life of Gary Gygax and his family when they lived at the house. She is so friendly and the fact that she keeps in touch with the family is so meaningful.
To book, you use the contact email on their website. I recommend giving her a few options of days you can attend, as she might not be able to give you a tour on the day of your choosing. Yolanda also has an "Air DnD" house you can rent, which is right next door, and offers times to be able to play in the house. It is free to tour, but there is an option to donate to help with the upkeep of the house.
Overall, it was a wonderful experience being able to tour the house and get to know the story of the...
