This was my first time here. I can now see why all of the negative reviews.
To start, when entering the restaurant, staff don't greet you. "What do you want to order?" is NOT a proper way to greet a customer. Upon asking the cashier questions, since this is my first time at any El Pollo Loco, the person didn't seem to understand English. If you do NOT speak Spanish, don't even bother coming here as you'll get frustrated trying to communicate with the staff. The staff are extremely unfriendly. I get people can have a bad day, but NONE of the workers seemed happy. You can get the same treatment with a robot, but you can program the robot to be friendly, greet customers, and be able to assist customers in English or Spanish.
I got the El Pollo original bowl combo. It's $5 plus taxes for the bowl, chips, and a drink. I had to explain to the cashier that this was a combo and not just a bowl. There's a lot of rice in the bowl--enough rice for several people. For those watching carbs, this is NOT the meal for you.
The only pros here the price.
The number one thing that El Pollo Loco needs to understand that you can NEVER change first impressions. That's why you need to be nice to ALL customers. Hopefully, the district manager or regional manager will read this and get some training done with this location.
This place doesn't have enough pros...
Read moreIf you are not ordering chicken in bits or as a whole expect to get little or no chicken. El Pollo Loco is famed for their chicken "claimed" but this was horrible. Ordered a taco that came over fried with nothing in it. Oily mess. Pics attached. The wait was horrible we were in the drive-through line for at least 30 mins and the way the drive-through is setup it's difficult to impossible to just back away or leave once you pass a certain curve your SOL. We got no apologies from the Rep at the window even though she had a nice smile and was courteous it was not enough for horrible wait. Wife got a bowl that too lacked guess what? Chicken. Son's meal was so oily and looked terrible. One good review is the taste of the ever so rare chicken. It was good. Well seasoned and succulent just...
Read moreWell, it has been over a decade since I’ve visited a Pollo Loco, will not be coming back. Cheapskates: machine that fills your cup with ice on one push, toilet paper dispensers that only gives you a square at a time, tiny salsa containers, chicken tacos where the chicken needs to be located with a magnifying glass. Not worth the trouble, as fast food places go you are better off at café rio where you’ll pay more for the food but you will leave with leftovers after a full meal. We went to Arby’s to get filled across the street. Robertos is better as well and are more generous with their salsas. The soda machine was dispensing something that tasted like doctor Pepper instead of come, which I hate, too late by then. The staff was SLOW and incompetent....
