Sonic Drive-In — Restaurant in Lawrence

This is a great place to eat. The carhops are fast and friendly. The food is always fresh and hot. Remember to tip the carhops; they work hard, rain or shine! Update: We are customers a few times a week. Sonic, as I stated before, is usually great. I had a bad experience a couple days ago though. Our order was incorrect. The food was very much overcooked, tasted of old oil and was cold when we got it. We did not discover this until we had already left the restaurant. We ended up having to throw most of the meal away. Sonic is more expensive than most fast food burger places. But is normally, to us, worth the extra bit because of the food quality, over-all taste, and the great service. Just not this time. I sincerely hope this was just a one time slip up. One bad experience won't make us stop frequenting Sonic. But if it becomes a pattern, it will...

Our ordering booth was broken and so we tried to order but after pressing the button, never got an answer. We moved and told the attendant it was broken and they knew about it but hadn't put up a sign to warn others. I ordered a breakfast burrito and in the past they have been my go-to but this one had dry overcooked sausage and cold unmelted cheese, like the food had been cooked earlier and was just sitting on the counter. As usual, the car hop had no salsa so he/she had to go back in to get salsa and we waited some more. Maybe it's just me, but if someone orders a burrito, just bring out salsa so you have it when the customer investigation invariably asks for it. Wouldn't hurt to change the fryer grease once in awhile, would it Sonic? Their new 'Flispy' chicken tenders were the worst we've ever had at a Sonic. Wife got a cherry limeade... like she always does (Sonic's signature drink, right) and it only had a half dozen melted ice chips floating in the top, no lime, with an opened top lid like they use on their shakes. I asked the girl what it was and she said it WAS a cherry limeade. I asked why no lime slice or ice, then she apologized and took it back. Okay... But then she brought the same drink back with the same lid, just with a lime slice floating in it but no more ice... JUST THE SAME LITTLE ICE CHIPS FLOATING AROUND! Gee...
