Wayne & Larry's Sports Bar & Grill — Restaurant in Lawrence

I was in Wayne and Larry's s month ago my friend and I both ordered our FIRST drinks for the evening which were double long islands. We try our drinks and realize it didnt taste like anything but sour mix. No big deal so we decide to wait another 15 minutes at the bar to politely ask if they could add more liquor to the drink that there wasn't anything in it but the sour mix and I also informed her I would pay the difference if I had to. She wasn't very friendly she had an excuse about it just being the cup size instead of apologizing and just fixing the drink they messed up. I informed that I was a bartender for 9 years and I know what a long island should taste like and this tastes strictly like the sour mix. She then snatches the drink off of the table and starts slamming glasses and bottles around while cussing and complaining openly to the other female bartender next to her about us. I was completely shocked so I just walked away and my friend stayed to get our drink. Now keep in mind we PD for 2 drinks but my friend and I only got 1 drink. I use to enjoy this bar but after that experience I decided to stay away for awhile. Last night the same friend and I decided to return. of course the rude employee is still rude but Now indirectly threatening us as we are paying our way into the establishment. She made it a point to tell her friend standing next to us that she hopes we complain again cuz this time she will knock us out. Really? I've been going to this bar for 4 years I've never caused any trouble, l I mind my own business and I tip well. I dunno what kind of staff your looking for but she should not be part of it. I won't return back to any establishment that treats there...

I reserved the back room for a private function on a Saturday night. It turns out KU had multiple things going on that day, so the town was packed and every bar was filled. This did not affect my reservation at all. We had that huge room to ourselves with our own bartender ALL NIGHT!

I was able to plug my phone into their sound system in the back room and play our preselected playlist the entire time. It only plays so loud and was a little tough hearing it with the wall (separates backroom from front bar area) opened up. But once we closed the wall and just started walking through the door right beside it, we could hear our music without issue and still were able to hear good enough for conversations as well.

We had plenty of room and seating for 50 people plus we had a table set up with food, another table set up with beer pong, and there was still room for a cornhole game set. And that’s not even counting the 12 people or so we could get around our own private bar back there. Which, the bar looks awesome, it has nice lighting and details. We also had our own private bathrooms back there as well.

Finally, our bartender Savanah (not 100% sure on the spelling) was a bada$s. She had no issue keeping up with the crowd. She was very professional and handled everything like a champ. She was funny, entertaining, very likable and took great care of us. If you’re looking for a place to reserve, I highly recommend...

I've been in bowling leagues here multiple years and those are always fun. The alley's bar doesn't have a lot stocked, but they bust tail to help you and the service is good. That said, in the "bar section" the bartenders are the single worst I've experienced in Lawrence. I've never waited less than 10min to be served (at a mostly empty bar). The bartenders spend most of their time standing at the register talking to the kitchen staff or waitresses about who is hooking up with who. We tried to ignore the poor service by playing pool, but they don't keep que-balls in the machines so we wound up waiting 15 min to get the bartender to give us one. Half way through the game my friend scratched and the que-ball went into the waiting rack so we had to wait another 30 min for the bartender to unlock it, only to be told it would happen any time someone scratched, and it would "just be easier to spend a dollar getting it out". We just left and went to 'Crimson and Brews' .....I've honestly never had worse...
