We downloaded the app and ordered Pizza at 5pm For a 5:45p future order pick up on Friday. We were having family iver to watch the PAC12 Championship Game. Upon my arrival to the drive up window at 5:43 I was greated and asked what the name on my order was. I told the man who then said, "I can tell you it isn't ready. What time was the pick up for?" I proceded to tell him that i had scheduled it for 5:45. "It will be a few minutes more," he responded. I thought Okay no big deal I can wait a few minutes longer I could see that they were busy. I left and went to get a drink and came back 15 minutes later. Again, I was greeted by a younge lady who again asked my name. My order was no where to be found. Appearantly they were having issues with receiving web orders. It was now 6:10pm. I had to reorder my pizzas and i was late getting home with food for the game with family. Ineas told it would be 20 minutes longer. I asked if we could have it delivered as we were having a viewing party for the game. I went home and we waited until 7 before calling to see where my order was. They said it was bist getting done and would be therenin 10 to 15 minutes. It was now 7:30pm still no delivary and i was getting irritated as we had friends and family waiting to eat. So I called again. Just as someone was getting to me we received the order. I asked to Speak to a manager. They told me they were all busy and to call back the next day. I asked that Inget a call from a manager when they slowed down. I have waited all weekendnand have yet to hear from a manager. It took 2 and a half hours to finally receive our order on Friday.
Now, I would probably still give the Layton Howies a try again for a few reasons and why I am okay with recommending them.
The pizza was good when we finally got it. They were super busy and this is a new location. Benefit od the doubt they have a few kinks to work out. it wasn't thier fault the mobile apo was having transmission issues.
What I am most disapointed in is that The issue could have been resolved a lot sooner had the first gentleman would have taken the time to look for my order rather then just tell me it would take a little longer than 5:45. Secondly I am disapointed that a managernhas never called to follow-up.
In Short I would give them 3...
Read moreWe wanted to try the new place out. It's close to home and thought it'd be good to help it out.
We went online and ordered a pizza with thick crust and handful of toppings. The email we received back said it would be done within 45 minutes. So my wife waits a little while and jumps in the car to go pick up the pizza. Because of the Covid-19, she was suppose to stay in the car and they'd bring the pizza out. 10 minutes after the 45 minute mark she finally calls the store. "Oh, sorry. We run out of that kind of dough so we can't make the pizza." What?! Seriously? If you had, don't you think it would have been nice to call us back and let us know before we drove over to pick it up? You had our cell phone and email from the order. "Okay. We're sorry. We'll credit back your card."
So off to another place to get dinner.
BUT WAIT! That's not the end. Within two weeks my wife gets the statement. NO CREDIT BACK FOR THE PIZZA! THEY'VE LEFT THE CHARGE ON HER CARD! So she calls the place and get a hold of the manager. "Yeah, well we credited back what we thought was your card. We mistakenly credited back a different customer. It's too late now and we're not able to credit back. Take it up with your credit card company." WHAT?!!!
Here's a little local place, franchised, that's trying to start building a clientele. They put money out to advertise to start building a name and bringing in customers. Look; it makes no sense to treat a potential new customer this poorly, especially whereas this whole thing is such a one sided fiasco on Hungry Howie's part. One pizza (or the price thereof) is not going to make or break a place but, eventually, poor word of mouth will - and especially when it's within a neighborhood close to the location. All it takes is one person to decide not to patronize the place because of this and the store loses.
I really hate leaving a bad review. When I do, believe me, it's well earned. Stay as far from this place as you can!
If you want AWESOME pizza at a price that's actually less expensive, try David's Pizza just around the corner, in Kaysville. We just tried them out and they are incredible!!! Coupons are on their website and it is, hands down, the best pizza...

My children requested Hungry Howie's recently, as they like the flavored crusts. Well, what a nightmare experience that turned out to be!
I went online and ordered pizza via the Google Slice app at 3:45 pm, to be picked up an hour later at 4:45 pm. When I got to the store on time at 4:45 pm, they initially stated that they couldn't find my order? After a few minutes of searching, they did find the order but stated that it hadn't been paid for? I tried to explain that it was pre-paid through Slice; however, they were unable to verify that, So I gave them another credit card and paid for the order.
Then, they tell me it would be ready in 15-20 minutes? What the heck?
I had to call Slice and wait while it took15 plus minutes to get the charge to my credit card stopped and reversed. To their credit, the Slice personnel were very accommodating and they even called the store in order to try and explain the situation; however, to no avail.
So, to recap - order was placed an hour early and pre-paid, order was initially not found at the store, order wasn't ready on time, and the order was charged twice.
The pizzas were OK; however, the overall experience left quite a bad taste in my mouth.
P.S. one thing that I failed to mention was that the manager never came out from behind the counter to explain anything that happened. Not once, which was somewhat frustrating as well.
Also, don’t trust the B.S. responses provided by their “Business Customer Service” team, as when you dial that number, all they do is route you back to the store.
Comically inept, to...
