sorry but I just don't get the hype. rave reviews from my friends, as well as the other reviewers here... but it most certainly did not live up to expectations.

I got the mega combo so that I could try a taste of everything that had to offer - does NOT come with the consome - and perhaps that is where I went wrong. but if the consome is a must-have, then it should come with every order and not be an additional $3... or they should have other options to include it.

Don't get me wrong! The food was okay... but for the price I could have just gone down the street to Don Joaquin's and had a much more flavorful meal. there was really no flavor beyond the taste of the meat and cheese... and grease heh!

there weren't really a whole lot of people in the store, but it still took 15 to 20 minutes for me to get a quesadilla, a street taco, and the other taco. probably could have been faster.

I'll be back, because I need to try the ramen is that looked pretty tasty. and I'll give another shot to the tacos with the consome just so that I can get the whole experience.

but for right now I'm going to leave this...

I went with some friends to Red Tacos in Lehi after my sister kept recommending it. We went at 6pm on a Monday, and it wasn't too busy. No wait to order, easy to get a table, short wait time for the food. We all loved the street tacos. I thought the queso tacos had too much cheese, but my friend thought they were perfect; it's a personal preference so I'd say go for it if you love cheese.

My only complaint is that Google says they're open until 9pm, but a little after 8:30 they started flashing the dining room lights. There are no hours posted on the door. After being so nice during our stay, I was a little surprised that the staff didn't make a quick round of the dining room to tell the 4 or 5 tables of people that they were closing in, say, 15 minutes. Maybe offer takeout boxes as a gentle hint. Say "we're going to be taking apart the drink machine, did you want a refill before we do that?" The signs in the window even...

Did I miss something here? Why so many rave reviews? I make better tacos at home than these! Don’t get me wrong, they look great but the cheese didn’t even add any flavor. There is one type of meat that doesn’t have much flavor… but does offer different types of shells. It was only tolerable because I dumped red onion, cilantro and lime on it. It was a greasy, drippy, mess! Even my half Mexican fiancé was disappointed. They gave me a buzzer when they could literally easily just call out a number or name, which would have been better since my buzzer’s battery died. After waiting what seemed longer than everyone else… the girl was just standing behind the counter on her phone while my food got cold. She just shrugged and said, “Yeah, sorry it must have died.” How about bringing it the 5 feet to my table when it was obvious I wasn’t aware it was ready? Anyway… go to Dell Taco or Taco Bell if you...

Based on a recommendation, we all tried Queso Tacos at Red Tacos in Lehi tonight. Red Tacos is located just east of the Main Street exit in Lehi. The tacos were fantastic - loved the crisp outside and cheesy, tender, beef birria inside! The consome was good. I enjoyed the tacos both with and without dipping them. Everyone was friendly and we were happy to see that they were pretty busy. We waited about 30 minutes for our food, but the tacos were still still piping hot and crispy when we arrived home to eat 10 minutes later. We ordered eight Queso Tacos. They were packed in two containers with three different hot sauces, red onions, radishes, and cilantro. I was completely full with two. Three each was plenty for my boys.

After having a poor experience at the Provo location we decided to try the Lehi Red Taco. Apart from a long wait (15 mins to order and 25 minutes to get our food on a Friday night), the food delivered in a big way. The Queso Taco and the Street Taco are excellent - but you must order the birria consume separately which seems odd for a birria place. Sometimes I thinks place will would do really well in a place like NYC. This is one of those. If you’ve seen how busy Los Tacos No. 1 is, you can understand why Red Taco would be a huge hit. Really delicious tacos and I can’t wait to come back — just not on the weekend.
