Me and my friend went around 10pm and there was maybe 4 tables seated with customers, we were going into order takeout but when we entered we were never greeted so after a good amount of time I said "excuse me" and then again said "excuse me" before finally catching the attention of someone who seemed like a host or waitress and explained we wanted to place a to go order and by now there was a line of at least 7 more groups of people when mind you we walked in and nobody was behind us waiting. She just kind of gave us the 1 min finger motion... So we waited for another 5-10 min and then again said excuse me but was ignored completely by both of the workers who were not even 2 ft away from me scrambling as if they were over whelmed when again 4 tables were filled in the diner and myself and the entire line behind me had not ordered ANYTHING yet. And all of them were actually eating there and were still waiting to be seated or even acknowledged. Finally I changed my tone a little more aggressive and said hello can I please place an order and was rudely answered "your gonna have to wait a bit" so already we've waited 23 minutes at that time (I counted to show how we were treated) nvm the 15-25 min wait they had the 1 person at the front who also did take out was told it was gonna be till his food was done so we left... That was such a disgrace of not being fully trained or not capable of fulfilling your job description... Because I saw 3 ppl who were punching in orders so assuming waitressing was there job and for the to be 4 tables with no more then 2 ppl per table and you haven't greeted acknowledged or even attempted to take care of anyone who was standing in line for way longer then it should ever take. And then to be rude to me as if I came in and how dare I ask after waiting and waiting to then place an order... After I not once gave an ounce of...
Read moreWe love Denny's. We were super sad when Denny's closed in our hometown in Maine. For this experience we were in Massachusetts, I'm honestly not even sure what town it was in as it was like midnight after seeing The Weekend in concert lol, but, it definitely wasn't AS great as our Maine Denny's restaurant.... The pancakes were the size of a small plate. In Maine, the pancakes are 10+ inches in diameter. ALWAYS enough to box up and take some home. Other than that, it was fantastic though. Everything tasted great and our waitress was hilarious and a great server. Oh, actually when we walked in we were told that we wouldn't be able to order for like 20 minutes. Which was fine with us we didn't mind having a cup of coffee for a minute while we waited, but the waitress said there was only ONE cook on duty, and he was backed up with to go orders. As a former restaurant worker myself, it was totally understandable and no big deal, but she did say the restaurant expected them to continue taking to go orders and even she felt like shouldn't she be serving the people who are actually SEATED IN the restaurant first and foremost, not inundating the cook with to go orders and having to tell the in restaurant customers that THEY were going to have to wait?? 🤔 Even she didn't get it. Honestly, it was not a big deal like I said, and I'm pretty sure we actually only waited 10 minutes to order but just something they might think of correcting. If the restaurant is overwhelmed I think you should tell people calling in for to-go orders that you either can't do to go orders at the moment or the THEY'RE going to have a longer wait, NOT the people who are actually seated IN the restaurant....

A 24 hour Denny's, After travelling well over 6 1/2 hours after traffic from New Jersey and settling down into our local area hotel, we were rather horrified by the disrespect and attitude of the two women in the following attachment who should promptly be removed from this location for the lack of any ability to handle a situation. I under stand that you have one cook, I understand situations are stressful. What is out of line is when you are disrespectful with a smile on your face in a brutal attempt to push people out of your restaurant because your don't feel like taking on one more table, after standing at the host stand, we slid into the corner booth near the door as I have a bad back and cannot stand for a long time. After of which the one waitress mentioned with a smile that they were short staffed and apologized for the wait which we never had an issue with and all replied with smiles that it was great! Her angry mutters about our "inability to wait 5 minutes" while agressive mashing her tabs into the computer, the other girl however decided to ask us to then leave our booth reminding us of the "10-15 minute wait" and asked us to sit on the bench by the door where we researched other places to eat while remembering why Denny's has the rather "trashy" reputation it does, I'm sure you've seen enough brawl videos in a Denny's restaurant. Needless to say, it was a very clear, obvious known move from a server to try to convince us to go elsewhere - from a 24HR diner, one of the only open places in the area currently. What a shame. People just have...
