Let me start by saying, I worked at this location. And the experience, was horrifying and disgusting to say the least. DO NOT BELIEVE THE FAKE 5 STAR REVIEWS, and I’ll tell you why: the General Manager practically forced all of the employees to give the restaurant a 5 star rating even though the business and this location specifically only deserve maybe a 3 star. The manager fired me due to a disagreement over a social media post, she told me to delete the post about Dennys and I said no. I never mentioned Dennys by name, until this review. I wouldn’t feel good consciously if I let people be misled by these reviews. Dennys runs solely off the dollar of their regular customers, which is why this location seems to be constantly busy. But the truth is, these regulars are aware of things the general public is not. THIS LOCATION FAILS TO TAKE CARE of its ROACH PROBLEM, they do not clean their silverware and dishes properly. And then they threaten the staff members like me, who request that the issue be taken care of. As you can see, I have a lot to say about Dennys and not a lot of space so let me sum it up for you guys: servers pay for food items and changes, they are underpaid and overworked (nothing new to a server though tbh), THEY GOT ROACHES (at least 3-4 at any given time in the kitchen/dry storage.) Another problem they have, is they don’t want to void any food. If a customer changes her mind from French fries, to seasoned fries, guess who pays for it? The server. Ha.these are just a snapshot of ALL the problems Dennys has. And then to top it off, they have a very high school like, dramatic, clique’d up culture. There’s so much gossip, that when I didn’t participate I was practically shunned by the other workers for not participating. The management is incompetent as ever, and often fail to take constructive criticism well. They get very snappy and defensive. Obviously this is just one side of the story, but then again, what lies would Dennys NOT make up in order to protect their namesake? Like I said, I was recently “let go” die to refusing to take down a social media post. I said it before and I’ll say it again, please, if you eat at this Dennys, make sure to DOUBLE CHECK your silverware, plates, coffee mugs, etc. you guys don’t want to KNOW what I KNOW about their utensils and dishes. 🤢 to be honest, I’m glad I don’t work there anymore because there are so many health hazards, if you’re seeing this and are a health inspector, PLEASE GO CHECK THIS LOCATION OUT because they know how to hide things from inspectors very well. I like the staff, but the management MAKES them break the law or do otherwise immoral things just to “please”...
Read moreI was very, very very disappointed with this Denny’s. I went there strictly for the free veterans meal. Even though I had multiple other choices I could have picked, but I chose Denny’s. First off the server Maria seated me. I advised her that I wanted the free veterans meal. She said OK asked me how I wanted my eggs. I told her with cheese and onions. She also asked me what I wanted to drink. I told her coffee and orange juice. She said OK. Not one time did she tell me, that any of what I ordered was not included with the free meal. a little while after that, I heard her at a different table with a Caucasian gentleman and told him thank you for your service. Not one Interaction throughout the whole time I was there, did she tell me thank you for your service. Following that a few minutes later, she was back at the Caucasian gentleman’s table and she said to him no there is no charge. He gets up and walks out. I can’t say if he had any coffee or orange juice, but he didn’t have to pay and just walked out. A few minutes after that when I was finished, I got up, went and walked out the door, and she came out the door behind me and said Sir you didn’t pay. I asked her pay for what I thought it was a free meal. She says to me , no the add-ons and the drinks are not included. we went back in the restaurant. I asked her why didn’t she say everything wasn’t included when she took my order. She went and got the manager. Home came out and said that the orange juice and coffee were not included. Neither were the cheese and onions on my eggs. I advised her that I was not informed that when I placed my order. She told me that that’s the way it’s always been. I told her that I never been there on Veterans Day and did not know that. She in so many words told me I was SOL and instead of a free VETERANS MEAL I end up having to pay $11. I have reported this to Denny’s corporate office. I will see if they make this right and get...
Read moreThis was a very strange experience. First when we got there, my wife asked if they served coffee all day. The waiter just kind of stared at us for a while. I wasn’t sure if he didn’t understand the question so I just answered her and said that I believe you can get coffee any time.
After getting my food, I noticed there was a hair in my French fries. Kind of frustrating considering I paid extra for the seasoned fries which I ended up not touching really because of the hair. To be fair, I didn’t mention this to the waiter simply because he didn’t really seem to know what was going on.
He came to our table after my drink had been empty for about 5-10 minutes and asked if we needed anything. I specifically had to ask him for my one and only refill. When he brought my daughter her pancakes, we had to ask for syrup and butter which may be the way things go. Just seemed odd.
But the number one weirdest thing that happened is 3 minutes after he dropped the check off in the middle of our meal, he came back expecting payment already. Kind of dumbfounded, I just handed him the card assuming he was in a hurry to get out of there.
When I handed him the card, he pulled out a pencil and handed it to me and said “Do you want to add any tips?” I honestly was shocked. I have never been asked that by a waiter before. So I had to double take and ask him to repeat himself because perhaps I heard him wrong (There is nowhere to add a tip on the receipt). He again asked “Do you want to add any tips?”
I was once a waiter and don’t believe in not tipping unless I get rude service. I didn’t feel he was being rude. Just completely clueless on the appropriate behavior for someone in the service industry. I added a tip. But he sat there and watched me write it before taking it to the register.
Just such a...
