I walked into this LA fitness today wanted to check out the facilities because my brother works out here and I had also found a 3-day pass at a store so I taught I would give it a shot. The gentleman at the front told me to have a seat and wait for someone to come and help me. A few minutes later Rolando or "RO" came and took me to his desk. I told him I wanted to check out the facilities and he pulled up my brothers info in his computer and straight up asked me: Are you looking at getting a membership or you just want to work out for free? I told him I wanted to use the pass because that is what the pass was for and I do have a membership somewhere else at his moment. He said: "SO YOU JUST WANT TO FIN WORK OUT FOR FREE? He kept going back and forward to another desk nodding his head and I could hear him say the same thing "THIS GUYS JUST WANT TO FIN WORK OUT FOR FREE". He just sent another guy come and talk to me and moved me to his desk. The other guy Kevin (supposedly a manager) pretty much told me that they don't like to waste their time unless you are for sure buying a membership. I moved the pass over to his side of the desk and I said thank you but I don't want to make you feel like I am wasting your time.
Guest what? There is a reason why companies like LA FITNESS and many others take the time to print out coupons and passes and that is so that people walk in the door and become members, but who would want to enroll here and have to deal with these rude, uneducated so called "trainers" like Rolando and the other staff? Guess what kind of impression I have as a prospect customer? Would I want to have him teach me how to use their equipment? Definitely NOT! I receive much better treatment at the city rec center. I also know that LA fitness charges you $15 for a day if you are not a member; however, nobody offered that option to me. I would have paid those $15 to used it for one day and maybe they would have earned my membership.
It takes more than being "buff" to be a trainer, there is something called CUSTOMER SERVICE and RESPECT that these people do not have a clue of. People like this guy cost businesses lots of money, I am almost sure that the owners or investors of this place would love to see how their money walks away due to bad...
Read moreIâve been a member for 8yrs with LA fitness and brought my girlfriend to join the 3yr contract. Manager (Collin) gave us the quote and one week free trial for her while she thinks about joining (what a gentleman he was). Today I came with my girlfriend for her to try out the gym but blocked by black guy named Rodney Strayer. He stopped us and asked whatâs stopping her from joining today. I explained our arrangement with Mr Collin but he kept asking whatâs stopping her from join the club today. Second time he asked I said her credit card is not with her. Third time he asked I tried to ease the mood and jokingly replied we might break up before the end of they year so she should try the gym out before making long term agreement. Despite of my afford he was very difficult and refused to respect our agreement with Mr Collin. He was relentlessly pressured us and questioned our motives and said he cannot let her workout simply because she might not join. He kindly put it âwe might lose moneyâ that was his exact words. At that point I asked his name so I can call Mr Collin or corporate office to file a complaint. As I ask his name he came up real close and grabbed and shook my hand unnecessarily hard with mean look on his face. Right before I walk out of the gym I talked to the receptionist. Mr Rodney approached us again but now trying to explain why I am making this hard. He stated that all he asked was for my girlfriend ID so he can registered to the system for the âliabilityâ reason. My girlfriend and I laughed in awe. He never once asked my girlfriend ID before. I felt like he tried to descalate the situation with his pathetic excuse. I was so amazed with his lack of respect and mannership toward a long term customer and a potential customer. I am a loyal gym member and simply brought business to LA fitness and this is how me and my girlfriend are being treated??!!! Gym itself I donât have a problem with. I certainly will not renew 3 yr contract membership with LA fitness...
Read moreNow that the Coppell signature club is closed, the Lewisville location would be the closest LA fitness in the area. Before I went to the signature club, I used to frequent LA fitness in Lewisville. However, I decided to make the signature club my home gym because the Lewisville location at the time was not managed well, and that was seen in the upkeep and maintenance of the facility. Now that the signature club is closed, the Lewisville location had a renovation. They do have new equipment and some old equipment that was transferred from the signature club. They donât have a basketball court anymore and instead that area was transformed into a dead lifting area, which is actually designed well. The sauna also had a renovation and looks great. Weâll see how the maintenance and upkeep stands the test of time. Itâs all about how the facilities is maintained and cleaned that really distinguishes a gym from others.
I will say, though that the male locker room, and Iâm sure itâs the same with the female locker room, is too small. Smaller benches and definitely a smaller space compared to the signature club. I can only imagine during the busy hours how cramped it would be in the locker room . So that was poorly designed.
Though they do have new equipment and have done some renovations. There are still many areas that were not improved. For example the shower rooms were not renovated and do not look at all acceptable for the reopening of a new gym. The pool did not feel like it has the right amount of chlorine in it, and the bottom of the pool had quite a bit of dirt scattered all around. Also the sauna although it was renovated was scorching hot beyond safety measures. The thermostat was...
