Today i get to experience first hand how it felt to be discriminated against, thanks to the employees at At Home. I was next in line at check out when this additional cashier came in, and for some odd reason decided to help the lady behind me even though I had been waiting there first. Though irritated I decided to let her finish the check out without saying anything (assuming I would be next)...until she went on and helped another lady behind the previous one. When I was finally helped by another cashier I told her what happened, only to get "that was interesting" and "that was weird". Now I dont know whether I didn't get help because of the amount of merchandise that i had in my cart, or the fact that I was the only Asian American there; but the feeling of being ignored was not one that anyone would appreciate. I was extremely disappointed at the way At Home employees handled the situation and how unapologetic they are, and one thing for sure I will no longer visit their establishment. It is also a huge place, so wear comfy shoes and maybe shop by yourself or with a trusted super shopper friend so you can take all the time you want to explore! This visit I scouted every single aisle. That means seasonal decor to rugs, kitchen linens to faux floral, patio furniture to knick-knacks, bedding to lamps, and so much more. The organized manner in which everything is arranged is truly helpful. You may wish to take pics of your home before you go so you can imagine how something can fit in the way you want. I ran into the same employees time and again as I perused the aisles for such things. They smiled and went on with their work of stocking or re-shelving items. As for check-out, the lines can be long, and the cashiers either efficient or friendly or sometimes both. Just stay smiling and patient. Read moreNot customer service oriented at all. I was returning some garland (unopened) that I purchased at another store because I bought more than I needed. The problem was since the UPC code didn't scan when I first bought it, another similar item was scanned that was the same price. The manager told me I would have to go back to the original store! I was buying two different packs of garland that were the same price. All she had to do was change it out. Instead, I am done with a store that would treat a customer like this. These younger ppl do not have any clue what customer service is. They also made an easy $20 because I was so appalled at her telling me to go back to the other store, I left the garland and took a loss. Will never set foot in there again. Incompetent ppl!!!
