This was our first visit as we are from Houston. We were looking for a nice hibachi place for lunch. The food here was good. The weird thing about this place is that the food all comes with steamed rice not fried rice. We've been to probably at least 50 different Japanese hibachi places and we've never had that be an issue. there was a couple who sat down at our table and we were asking them if the food was good since it was our first visit. when the server came over to take our order we all wanted fried rice instead of steamed rice. The menu says if you want fried rice it is $4. The server said that is not an upcharge that is a separate charge. So the steamed rice comes with your meal and if you pay $4 you can get fried rice as well. We all did that. When the bill came we were charged $5 each for the fried rice. When we asked why each of us was charged more, the "manager" came out and immediately started yelling at us in front of my children. I asked him to please stop yelling in front of my children. He kept yelling and said the charge is for the steamed rice. The only man at the table asked him to stop yelling in front of the children since he kept yelling and my 5 year old was crying. We ask to speak to a manager he shouted that he is the manager. He then said he's calling the cops on us!!! The police came and we explained what happened. Meanwhile I wasn't even done eating my food it was still on the plate in the restaurant. The picture is of roaches we noticed in their window! We will never be back!! He absolutely refused to give us the general manager or owner's name and...
Read moreOk so this place really had me with mixed feelings. The service was great! Quick, efficient, kind and friendly. But I have to be honest the food is nothing special. We ordered the hibachi dish with chicken fried rice and two orders of sushi. I will say their sushi is really really good. They had a lot of different varieties and the portions were very generous. Unfortunately, the hibachi and the fried rice fell short, there wasn’t any particular taste or anything exceptional about it it was kind of like the fried rice one would get at a grocery store fairly bland. You couldn’t really taste much of the spices, the atmosphere of the restaurant because it’s quite small it’s pretty loud, even though they have different sections for seating. We were seated close to the sushi bar and it was really really loud with music TV show playing and of course families need to talk so it wasn’t really a place for peaceful dining and for a hibachi sushi place. The prices were exorbitant. You could’ve got really good fresh sushi at Whole Foods for much lesser. Our party of three paid over $90 for dinner which to me is really expensive for Japanese food that does not constitute fine dining. We paid hundred dollars for four people at Uchi Dallas which is fine dining fusion Japanese food. This was our first time there and we went after a friend from college suggested it because many college students go there. I don’t think...
Read moreAbsolutely do not eat here with any allergies. Informed the manager upon entering that we needed gluten free. He said no appetizers were gluten free but they could accommodate other things. We also informed the server of gluten allergy and my husband had a dairy allergy. I reminded the chef once he came to the table. I specifically said ours has to be gluten free and he has a dairy allergy. A few minutes later while making the fried rice, he used soy sauce and got a big scoop of butter. When he tried to put it on my plate, I said we can't eat that, you used soy sauce and butter. He had more rice brought but used the same utentils for the entire time. We were feeling sick before we left. Tried talking to the manager and he was argumentative and rude. I told him he had an opportunity for education with the staff. He went and got the chef and like a 6th grader, said well say all that in front of him. I did. Then he said it was our fault for not requesting a private table. I said we had a reservation and were not expecting other and we informed him on our arrival. He continued to argue and said "so you're just wanting a discount or what, I can't do anything about it." I said I want you to educate your staff and do better. The food was awful, completely oversoaked in soy sauce and ruined. I would not recommend this place to anyone. It's pretty hard to ruin a lobster but...
