I had a craving for a calzone for dinner so I googled Italian places near me. This place had decent reviews, so I thought I'd give them a shot. I browsed their website and decided what I wanted before calling in my order.
Per the website, it lists a cheese calzone as $9.99 "with your choice of 4 toppings." I asked for white sauce on one calzone and stated my choice of 4 toppings, one of which was "very little black olives." The second one I ordered was with the usual red sauce and I stated 2 toppings of my choice for this one. I also ordered 2 Cesar salads and a chocolate cake.
The total came to $59.57 I questioned the lady taking my order, asking "2 calzones, 2 salads and a chocolate cake is $60?" She confirmed by saying, "Mmhmm." I raised an eyebrow but assumed there was a delivery charge of some sort and continued to complete my order, opting to wait to see the receipt.
When the order arrived, I immediately checked the receipt to find that I had been charged $17.49 for one calzone and $12.99 for the second one. I called back to the restaurant and the same lady answered the phone. I asked to speak with a manager and she asked, "What is this regarding." I told her there was an issue with my order and she replied, "What issue?" I asked for the manager again and she informed me that there was no manager there and she would have to be the one to help me. I explained the issue in detail and she told me the calzones are cheese only and each additional ingredient is $1.50. I told her that is not what the website shows and read to her exactly what I saw. She placed me on hold for some time. She returned and advised that the website does in fact show the same information she had provided me. I was not accepting of this, as I was looking directly at the website as she spoke to me. She stated she would contact the manager and call me back. She called back promptly and stated that the manager said pretty much the same thing she had already told me.
I asked when the manager would be back in the restaurant. She told me Saturday. I questioned the fact that there would not be a manager in the store for the next 3 days and she confirmed. I asked her to pass my information on to the manager and request that they contact me.
During this discussion, I was preparing our food onto plates. I found that the calzones were not hot and the salads were not cold. When I cut into the 1st calzone to eat it, I found it was FILLED with black olives. Even once removing the majority of the olives, it was all that could be tasted. I also realized that I was charged an additional $1.50 for the substitution of white sauce, which was not mentioned at all.
The attached photos show the amount of olives removed from only a quarter of the calzone, as well as the receipt and screenshots from the website showing the description and pricing. Mind you, I was using my phones browser, so I made sure to take screenshots from both the desktop version and the app version. Both indicated the same pricing and description without any mention of an upcharge for additional toppings.
This was the first and absolute last time I will ever order from Rosati's. If you choose to take your chances and order here, be sure to confirm all pricing. If you only want a "little bit" of something, just leave it out completely. Utter disappointment in quality, service and management.
EDIT: Management contacted dme the following morning. She stated that they are working on the website and will work to correct this issue. She offered 20% off my next order, however, I stated I would not be returning. She then offered a 20% refund from this order which I accepted. Management was very polite and professional and handled my issue. I have updated the review from 1...
Read moreHighly disappointed by my last experience with Rosati’s. They usually don’t fail us and have been a go-to for quite some time. Tonight was horrible. We called in an order and the person taking the order repeated the order back to us twice. TWICE. A simple sausage sub, a build your own pasta, and a dessert. Real simple order. We got home and EVERYTHING was wrong. EVERYTHING. Bread for the sub was hard as a rock, had ingredients that was not asked for on the sub, the entire pasta order was wrong; asked for Alfredo sauce and got marinara, and did not get chicken on the pasta, and the dessert was horribly made. We called them back and they offered to remake it ONLY if we came back up there with EVERYTHING EXACTLY as it was when we left or they would give us 20% off of the next order. The order was $47 and they offered no kind of refund or anything. Their only excuse was “our chef messed it up” That’s not your customers fault. That is YOUR fault and you wanted to do NOTHING to make it right besides a not promised 20% off on the next order and to come all the way back up to the restaurant where your front staff were mocking and making fun of customers as they leave. Keep your 20% off, there won’t be a need for it because who would want to eat anywhere that doesn’t give a damn about their customers that have been going to their...
Read moreDespite being overpriced my order was $36. Trying this place for the first time. My order was delivered and unfortunately had to find out but there was a long black hair in my pizza. The rolls for my chicken Parmesan were stale at best. Nevertheless I took my order back to Rosati's and ask for a refund. The Asian lady behind the counter who guess what? has long dark hair.... didn't bother to apologize didn't acknowledge anything besides that she would refund my money less the delivery charge. This will be my last time spending money at this establishment. What happened to basic common courtesy and customer service where a business tries to make it right by the customer? I asked for the corporate office number and she referred me to the local business card that they have on the counter. When I asked how I would contact her corporate office she stated it was somewhere in Chicago and she doesn't have that number. Go figure. And to think you guys just spend all of the money and time putting out flyers trying to attract new business in my apartment complex? Seems like a...
