This place is a gem! The food is fresh, authentic. The atmosphere is so calm, with Turkish pop music from 60s&70s at the background. You can see some of the best places to visit in Turkiye in the big screen TV. So far we tried some mezes, Doner (Gyro), mixed grill, Iskender, and Kunefe as dessert. Our favorite is Doner and other grill meats. Iskender has too much yogurt for our taste, but that's subjective. The Kunefe, a middle eastern dessert, made with thin dough similar to angel hair with cheese in between, and served with syrup, is fresh! We ate it in several places in Turkiye and outside, and mostly they serve frozen version. Make sure you save some room for the dessert while digging into the main dishes. We pair it with a cup of Turkish tea. The owner and chef has tens of years of experience under his belt. He makes sure everything is cooked by order and served properly. There is no alcoholic beverages but it's BYOB. Looking for fresh, authentic Turkish food, please give this place a try! you will...
Read moreI tried this restaurant while travelling in the area for business. I had dinner on a weeknight and it was not crowded. It was literally a one-man show...the host was also the chef and the server and the owner. Way to go! I ate the Spinach Borek appetizer. Very tasty. The pastry part was flaky and not too oily, and it had just enough filling, not overly stuffed. I opted for the Iskender Kebab main meal. It was beautifully presented on an oval plate with ornate metal trim. The meat was so tender. It was layered with bread at the bottom, a yogurt sauce, thinly sliced meat, and a tomato sauce. The bread on the bottom had absorbed liquid flavor and it was delicious!
I don't have a point of reference for Turkish food, but I can say I really enjoyed this meal and the owner was so kind....
Read moreAbsolutely amazing in every way! We stayed at a near by hotel for 3 nights and ate there twice, it was that good.
The meze plate was wonderful, babaganoush was excellent, the Imam bayildi one of the best I have ever had, the kebabs were one better then the other but the lamb one was spectacular, and so were the stuffed cabbage rolls-delicate yet savory, the taste was perfectly balanced, with a great proportion of sourness from the pickled cabbage leaves and subtle saltiness, cooked to perfection -a must try!
It is a BYOB, so we brought a bottle of red and one of white wine to keep everyone happy.
I wish we had a such a good Turkish restaurant near where...
