Very disappointed, I decided to go here for dinner last night around 330p, but their hours on google said they aren't open until 5pm, which is annoying but I get it (Strike 1). So since I like the food and it's close to my moms, we patiently sat around waiting for 90 minutes. Once I finally go there, the front door is locked and it's freezing cold outside. We tried knocking and saw people inside, yet no response. I fInally call after waiting 15 minutes outside and asked if they're going to open at 5 as advertised because doors are locked, and it's cold out and we're freezing, and was told there is a private event and they aren't opening. (Strike 2)
To me this is completely unacceptable, poor customer service and unprofessional! I understand you can't update google live for events this but the LEAST they could do is put a sign on the door saying closed, or private event, especially when my 70 year old mother and I (with an injured knee) and were literally left out in the cold for 15 minutes on top of waiting for them to open and then find out they aren't even opening. Last night was supposed to be a fun celebration for the greatest milestone in my life and it was ruined by Billy's forcing me to scramble looking for somewhere else to go.
So since they don't care about their loyal customers or have common courtesy to let the public know they aren't open by something as simple as taking 1 minute to put a sign on the door, they have lost my business for waisting almost 2 hours of my time, waiting while I'm hungry to just be rejected the meal I was looking forward to! Hope the event was worth it because I will never come back or recommend this place again. Especially after hearing about how unprofessional management is when he ruined yet ANOTHER meal, on a different occasion, by sitting at the table trying to hit on my mom (Strike 3) ruining her meal with a friend and bothering these 2 ladies! So that's 3 strikes you're done as far as...
Read moreMy husband treated me to a fancy Birthday dinner last week at Billy's. People have been telling me to go for ages but it was my first time!
We literally ordered half the apps. Baked Brie was great with the apples. Brussel Sprouts were done well but I'm not a huge Balsamic person. Artichoke Dip was super smoky so not for me but I'm sure everyone else would love it! My husband Loved the Broccoli Soup and I enjoyed the Salad and Rolls.
He ordered the Rack of Lamb, medium rare, it came out a bit over. He still thought it was great, especially with the mint jelly! Loved the Rosemary and garlic. Yummy mashed potatoes and a side of veg, broccoli is one of his faves.
I mentioned wanting a Vegetarian option, apparently it's totally customized! He asked if I wanted potatoes, rice, or pasta for my base. Asked what kind of sauce I'd prefer- cream, red, yellow curry, or a brown sauce I think. Finally if there were any veggies I did not like. It was Amazing! I am such a mashed potato snob (favoring my husband's version). These were the best I've had from a restaurant and it's not even close! Yellow Curry veggies to top, heavy on the coconut milk. Freaking Delicious! I took 2 bites and told my food to Shut Up! Huge portion, I ate on it 4 times.
My husband had an Apricot Bavarian Torte for Dessert and I ordered a Lemontine Cooler, citrus and tropical, yummy. Took home the Raspberry Chocolate Torte as well, So Good! Service was great, very personable, very attentive. We had a...
Read moreThis was such a great experience. Billy’s is in an old house and there were only a couple of tables per room. It made it feel like we were in someone’s home and while we could hear (and be heard - we were quite loud. My apologies to the other diners.) other people it still felt intimate to our group.
We got crab cakes, bruschetta, Brussels sprouts, and the baked brie for appetizers. They were all fantastic.
We mostly all got different entrées and everyone said their meal was excellent. I got the pasta carbonara. I had eaten so much of the appetizers that I barely had room for the pasta, but I did my level best. I would have taken the rest home in a heart beat, but I’m from out of town and I didn’t think TSA or my future fellow passengers would appreciate that.
I love and hate when restaurants bring out a selection of the desserts so you can see them in addition to hearing what they are. Makes it so hard to resist the temptation that way. I got the lava cake. The cake (that didn’t touch the chocolate sauce inside) was ever so slightly dry, but it was still very good.
Our waiter was the son of the owner and was lovely. He knew the menu very well and made great suggestions and I enjoyed his humor. The owner came by at one point and upon request told a somewhat dirty joke. Some of my coworkers had eaten here previously and had fun chatting with him.
Overall everything here was excellent and I would definitely come again the next time...
