The food was good, as expected at a sushi place downtown. Price was on par. However, the host decided it was a good idea to sit 5 large adults at a smaller table for 4. The waiter was hard to understand as I would guess English was his second language. It could have been his first day by his service as we waited a while just for water. Our group started with drinks and a few apps. He brought a few drinks to the table but didn't bring the rest until the apps came 30 mins later. One in our group didn't get their appetizer until after the food was brought, and we pointed out they are missing their app. The table next to us ordered after us and got their apps before we did, similar order. We got our food, and I then ordered a domestic beer. He brought it to the table at a temperature I can imagine the bottle sat next to the grill-it was that warm.
Finally, expect to pay the required gratuity for 5 or more. I have no problem tipping, but the service we were given was less than that of a truckstop restaurant. Not to mention, we were sat by the door leading outside, and the host allowed people to exit that door, letting the very cold winter wind blow through our table, making us all very uncomfortable.
A few wanted to speak to a manager about our situation but decided we would just never go back. There are other places in town that provide a better experience for the amount of money the food costs.
For what it's worth, I've personally been to restaurants in this building many times with many different owners. This has been the worst, and I will probably not return until the next sushi business moves in this location. 5th new sushi business is...
Read moreBeware!! Parties of five or more are automatically charged 18% gratuity, which gives the staff the ability to give poor service and still get a great tip. This was not brought to our attention and we didn't notice prior to paying, thus when the waitress put the charge machine in front of us when it was time to pay we tipped additional unknowing. So this terrible, awful, no good service was double rewarded! 😵💫 This was a Sunday at 730pm and the restaurant was not busy! We pondered our menus a full 30 minutes before we met a waitress and got waters. The bottle of wine we ordered was plunked on the table unopened. When waters did come they were never refilled. When we pointed out to the waitress that we did not receive the side of rice that was supposed to come with our meal her response was, "Well you didn't pay for it!"😳 But... it was supposed to come with meal!? The teriyaki salmon came out completely dried out and over cooked. They offered to remake it but the second time was marginally better. I didn't mention it a second time nor did the waitress return to ask how it was. When I tried to reach out to a manager the next day, I was told the manager wasn't available. It seems a manager is rarely available as I called 4 days in a row before I was finally able to talk to a manager. (One host told me "they take days off too, you know!" when I mentioned I had been trying to reach a manager for several days.) After listening to all of these issues the managers response was, "sorry, I'll talk to the staff". I will say the sushi was very good, but I've had better service at fast food places!! Keep your expectations low and do...
Read moreI have never written a review for a restaurant before ever but felt obliged to because of how awful this experience was. Got the all you can option but was initially told they were out of the salmon, tuna, and hamachi after 2 orders even though there were pounds of fish in clear view up front at the sushi counter. Was then told there was a limit of 3 orders of sashimi PER TABLE (we were a party of 6, which unironically punishes larger parties) for the weekends, even though in no way was it made known to us when we got the all you can option and until after we had put the order in and had waited for over an hour for the food at that time. This would’ve been fair if that made the limit explicit at the start and to not have lied to us about running out of fish and kept us waiting for almost 2 hours at this point. However, when we tried to order other rolls, we were again told that they were out. Only the ice cream and imitation crab were not out it seemed. I don’t know if that’s true or not but as we were lied to once already that’s not a good look. In addition, we saw our server maybe once every 50 mins throughout the evening. The food, at least the ones that seemed at this point that we were “allowed” to order took no less than 50 mins to come out every time. Cannot understate my disappointment at this overall experience. Be aware that the all you can option is not actually all you can eat as you will be lied to about fish running out, and the service is incredibly slow. Be prepared to...
