First off, I do not usually write a review for restaurants. Matter of fact, this is my first review ever on here. So this should tell you something right away. I’ve eaten here once in the past and was not impressed honestly. Food ain’t bad, but just your average sub shop. Like a Subway shop. Nothin really unique here. But anyway. Today I decided to try them out again. (To-go order) I ordered the multigrain turkey club, a multigrain PB&J, a chili soup, and an Oreo shake. The turkey club just completely lacked flavor. Again, just very average. Not that different from Subway as far as flavor. Very bland. Needed salt/spices badly in my opinion. Also it was quite dry. I could of easily made this better at home with more seasoning. The bread was very good and the veggies were very fresh though. The PB&J was not bad at all. Just imagine making a PB&J at the house, but with fancier bread. Bread to PB&J ratio was off though. Needed more PB&J filling. Next, the chili. The chili completely lacked flavor also. Once again, just very very average. Like a Subway. Yes it tasted like chili, but it just didn’t have the ‘kick’ to it. Desperately needed some salt to it. Once I added salt, became much better. Lastly, the Oreo shake. In my taste opinion, I tasted more vanilla than Oreo. Maybe it’s just me. Burger King has a chocolate Oreo shake and good lord... Absolutely amazing. Consistent chunks of Oreo and Oreo cream inside the shake from Burger King. So that was my experience with Potbelly. I wasn’t a huge fan the first time, and I feel bad to say that I ain’t a big fan once again. Probably won’t here again unless I have to for some reason. Eatable, but not necessarily enjoyable for me. I’ll be sure to just eat at Firehouse subs that’s only walking distance from Potbelly. Their subs are...
Read moreToday we went by Pot Belly in Schertz and were totally blessed by their employee service. My husband and I come into town to visit our family often and my husband likes this place so when we are in town he always wants to stop there as soon as we come into town. Today was exceptional. My husband has an amputed legs and sometimes gets off in places with his crutches. As soon as we came into the restaurant the employees greeted us by taking us to the table and taking our order at the table. That was very considerate because he does get tired sometimes waiting in lines. During our time their I was cold so I went to get my blanket from the car and as soon as they saw me they went to turn off their ceilings so I wouldn't t be cold. Boy what a show of sensitivity to their customers..that is amazing. Then to finalize everything and top it of with beyond amazing I think it was a manager (sad to say I don t remember his name) He not only made sure everything was brought to us, when we were going to pay, he just said "go enjoy your grandbaby who lives close by" I ll take care of things for you. That made me joyfully cry inside because it is do hard to find people and places like this Pot Belly location where they see a need and go above and beyond to make you feel valued. We love the people and food here and it is always so clean. Shout goes out to this location and employees. You all are fantastic. Keep up your kindness it does not...
Read moreI hate to do this because I loved this place so much. I’m new to the area and found a place with great salads, or so I thought. I would order from here more than a handful of times a week. One day I went in and I saw one of the workers preparing a salad without changing out his gloves after handling meat (that wasn’t apart of the salad). I thought of contacting the supervisor to notify them of the issue but once I got home I forgot. A couple weeks following that incident (last night) I ordered the walnut salad. I have been a vegetarian my whole life, thus the walnut is the only one I loved to order. Well….as I’m finishing my salad I get a Smokey taste in my mouth and spat it out. My instincts told me it was meat, and it was, and to the bathroom I went. I am gravely disappointed. Food handling safety should be a Top Priority and changing your gloves after each order along with having two separate surfaces for salads and other food (meat) should fall under that Top Priority. I will NOT order from here again. It has now left a bad taste in my mouth, both figuratively and physically. Again, I’m gravely disappointed.
*Update, same day: The managers contacted me and are finding ways to get to the bottom of this and I am satisfied with the solutions they’ve proposed. With that kindness and consideration, I have changed my ratings for this establishment. I hope their intentions prove positive and that incidents like this do not...
