Read moreThis was my first visit to a Crumbl. And I was unimpressed. Ignored. Avoided. And almost deafened.
The employees were unfriendly, avoiding eye contact, not greeting me (no "Hello, welcome to Crumbl!"?), or even acknowledging that I'd walked in. I looked over the menu and realized I'd have to use the ordering kiosk because even when I was trying to make eye contact, no one would look up, despite being two feet away behind clear acrylic partitions. I saw three employees working, but it might have well been a ghost town.
The tiny store has no chairs or tables to encourage you to stay and eat your purchases, so the cookies are bound to be cold and hard when you get them home, unless you want to try and eat them over your lap in car, or standing in the store. It really feels like you walked into the back of a factory, instead of a store. There's no decor, color scheme (white on white?), or friendly / enticing signage anywhere. Just a menu and two kiosks to order from, and a counter where you could place an order if someone working there decided to grace you with their attention. lol
The menu shows "cookie cream" (no explanation of what that is -- is that like the cream in the center of an Oreo? Coffee cream to dunk them in? Ice cream? So mysterious...) and beverages like milk and chocolate milk, but all of those kinds of extras are marked off as unavailable.
Also, two of the three giant stand mixers were running, and banging with a loud "metal on metal" clang with every rotation, so loudly that I wanted to wait outside for my cookies. I can't believe these people aren't wearing ear protection (I looked, out of curiosity).
No one called my name to signify my order was ready (or maybe she did, but six feet away I didn't hear it), but I happened to see the employee place it on the counter and I was the only customer, so I correctly assumed it was mine...
But even though the store sounded like some sort of factory building cars, the employees should at least acknowledge and greet their customers... even though the customers wouldn't hear it!
I could feel through the box I carried out (4 cookies) that two of them were warm when I left, and two felt freezer cold, but by the time I got them home, they seemed deflated and old, and all four were room temperature. They tasted fine, but nothing I was wowed by. Maybe if they'd been fresher when I tried them... I'll have to try that the next time I'm a car passenger and wearing casual clothes, or when the weather warms up and I can stand in the lobby and sample my choices while juggling the box. Gotta...

Three hours of my day were wasted and I came home with no cookies.
My wife had a free single Crumbl box for her Birthday reward. This location was the only one in our area that was not currently sold-out of the cookie she really wanted. She placed an order online for that and an additional box of 4 cookies. The order was to be ready between 2:50 and 3:30. We arrived around 3:30 and were notified there were 12 customers ahead of us. I planned to go in when it got down to 5, but it went from 7 to "We hope you enjoy your cookies!" They were super busy and the door was locked. When I got in my order was not in the pick up area. I waited a while for my name to be called and it never was. I was eventually able to get a workers attention, who looked into it. She told me the order was waiting for the two lemon bar cookies and asked if I'd like to get something else, or wait for the lemon, since they were making more. After inquiring about the wait I was told 40 minutes. At 4:12 my wife and I decided after waiting for about 45 minutes, we could wait another 40. Around 5:00, when the cookies still weren't ready, I heard them tell another customer it would be another hour before any would be done. Another customer was told it would be an hour 90 minutes earlier, spoke with the shift lead. He got a partial refund and left, quite unhappy. I stepped up to the counter as he left and the shift lead turned and walked away. After a few minutes standing at the counter, without a single employee acknowledging my presence, I started my stop watch. I made eye contact with the shift lead several times in the 12 minutes I stood there before I flagged someone down. In that time I heard an employee tell another customer the wait would be 2 hours for the cookie I had been quoted a wait time of 40 minutes an hour earlier. I was then told the wait would be an hour. I requested a refund. Beth, the general manager, was helping the employee process a refund. I asked why I was told so many different things. She said it was busy, an employee was vomiting and had to leave. They were short staffed and had to take employees to help with the clean up. She didn't know why people were saying different times. She did say she was sorry. As for being ignored while waiting at the register, she said that shouldn't be, it is a training issue. At 5:35 I left...
