I went in and ordered my food & 2 smoothies. While waiting for my order to get ready, I saw a worker lick the top of a smoothie & then put that same smoothie (with her saliva) back in a blender. As I'm watching my smoothies being made, the worker called out my food order. I get my food. A different worker calls my smoothie order (since they failed to ask for a name for my order 🙄). As I'm walking towards the counter, she hands it to a man. In my head I think it's a bit strange that he had the exact same order as me. Then I think again, because it is a smoothie place. It could happen. He was there when I walked in, so surely his order should be done before mine. I literally wait 11 additional minutes. I watch SEVERAL people walk in after me and recieve their orders before me. I finally walked to the counter to ask about my order. The worker told me (with attitude) that she already made my order & called it out a time ago. I explained to her that I tried to walk up, but she handed to another customer. Turns out she handed him the incorrect order. They had put my smoothies down on the opposite end of the counter & she basically blamed me for not noticing that. Her attitude was TERRIBLE. I was beyond upset because I have no idea if he tasted the smoothie to figure out it wasn't his or what happened with them while sitting on a crowded countertop with random people around. I was never offered to have them made over. I waited in total 23 minutes for my order that had been done for at least 10 minutes. OUTRAGEOUS! The worker could have easily explained the mix up & apologized & offered to remake them for me. Instead, her HORROBLE attitude & the DISGUSTING act by another worker makes me NEVER do business at this location again! This is BAD BUSINESS & I will NOT choose to spend my money here. Read moreWow... I should have read the reviews first before coming here. However, was getting smoothies for loved one who was in the hospital nearby. Customer service for the young lady with the blonde hair and the manager with the locks were atrocious. The blonde hair associate was extremely rude with guests when we came in and had a very bad attitude. She kept complaining and shouting out how many more minutes before the store closed. If people came in, she would ask if it were door dash or pick up. I wanted to place an order and she was extremely rude. I asked her how much an item was and she rudely/sarcastically shouted "I don't know!" I said well "don't you work here?" I asked to speak to her manager whose name is Jarrell Oates? As I was explaining to him what occurred, the lady kept walking towards me from the back and kept interrupting me. I asked her a few times to not come towards me and interrupt because I was speaking with her manager. The last time, I asked for her name and I would have to deal with her with the company. The manager said that I threatened her and began to yell and curse me out saying to get out of his store and called the police. The police came and said there was nothing criminal done and they wouldn't be taking a report and told me to follow up with corporate. This store manager and lady were HORRIBLE. Read morePlanned my first visit to a tropical Smoothie Cafe this morning. I specifically chose this location because the 5 mile location had poor reviews on food quality, customer service and staffing levels.
i didn't end up with a smoothie or breakfast sandwich this morning. They were very busy and only had 2 people working during a Friday morning rush. It was clear these workers needed some help. I am a very patient person, but it was obvious there was no way I was getting out of there in a timely fashion. Heck.. I wasn't even acknowledged after standing there for a short period of time.
Not sure who handles the staffing levels or training for this location, but it is clear this person might need some education in this area of running a business. I am seeing a general "lack of leadership" pattern in previous reviews that relates to staffing/training.
I don't generally write reviews and a 1 star may be a bit harsh! The 1 star is specifically for the management/ownership, as i feel the individuals working this morning were doing the best they could under the circumstances. Plus I didn't get a chance to try the food.
I may try this location again at some point in the future. At which time I would be happy to amend this review if the experience...
