My family and I visited Tavern 27 for the brunch buffet last week. The food was good, but I felt that the price was a bit much for what was offered. However, the view and the workers were the best part of the meal. One of the waitresses took a liking to my little girl and kept her entertained the whole time (I can't remember her name, but she has a sister named Kaylee. Tavern 27, if you're reading this, give that girl a raise!). She also took us on a mini tour of the club when we were done because we hadn't been there since my husband and I were kids. If you can, try to get a seat by the windows looking out on the golf course. The main room, where the buffet is actually located, is in dire need of updating. It hasn't changed at all since I used to come here with my family to eat brunch and see Santa Claus at the annual Christmas party, and that was the late 80s and early 90s. The rest of the club does look very nice, though, and the food was good enough that I would definitely give it another...
Read moreThe staff who catered an event were a little less than professional. Often times you could catch a glimpse of them gossiping and laughing and rolling their eyes. One lady in particular made a statement about "watch me say something," and went to intervene a child playing in the water. Which understandably there are rules with that but just go and correct the situation, why amp yourself up to the other staff and them have them snicker and sneer at the act. I exchanged a few "thank yous" to a younger waitress and got "yup" in return. There was also an exchange about serving of deserts and ok, it was understood the staff wasn't told to do it nor did they appear to want to go above and beyond, they instead went inside and you could see them yet again talking and rolling their eyes. The venue is nice, the staff needs some work. There was a male and another female who were particularly nice. Maybe a bad day for them, we're all entitled to...
Read moreVery disappointed. Wish I had a different first option, however, my husband and I took my father and his mom and dad to dinner on a Sunday evening. I phoned a few days prior to inquire whether or not a reservation would be needed. The girl on the phone politely said she would take one to be safe. Upon entering the dining area we were all a little surprised to see that there was no one there excpt us! I asked why we had needed a reservation and was told by the waiter they "never" take reservations on Sundays because they don't use a full menu. They are limited to sandwiches and such.
Maybe it's just me, but it seems that would have been something the receptionist could have, no, should have told me over the phone. Not once there at 6 pm with two diabetic men in tow.
If we ever decide to give them a chance on a different night of the week, I'll write another review; hopefully better. Until then?...
