Over here putting the fun in funnel. @thefunnelhouse legit makes the most delicious funnel cake I’ve had. It’s been years since I had a funnel cake, I will admit, and I forgot how much of a delight they are. I also had no idea how they were made, and thought it was cool to see the batter spinning around in the frier and coming out all funnely. Everything here is made fresh to order - no churros sitting in a warmer. And speaking of their churros - these were my favorite I also may have ever had. They’re perfectly crispy on the outside and sooo fluffy on the inside. They’re literally cooked right when you order them, so they’re super fresh. I don’t normally have a sweet tooth, but these changed my mind for the day. What’s love got to do with it? @shorelinevillage is the home to a beautiful wall of lovelocks, inspired by the Love Locks in Paris. 419 Shoreline Village Dr # K, Long Beach, CA 90802 These locks were started by Tarilynn and Paul Jewett who met and fell in love at the Village. You can bring your own lock and seal your love, or you can buy a lock from one of the vendors at the village. This is pretty much the ultimate date night idea. It’s also fun to look at the locks and see what they’re dated and who’s locked up their love on the bridge. The village is a great place for a sunset stroll in general. I was really craving a churro so I went over to @thefunnelhouse to grab some churros and a funnel cake for good measure. ⁣ ⁣ The churros are fried to order, so they arrive piping hot—crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside. It was a real treat!⁣ ⁣ Next time you’re craving a sweet treat, take a little jaunt through the Shoreline Village and give the Funnel House some love!

Their churros had a lot of positive reviews so my girlfriend and I decided to get one since we didn't want to eat an entire funnel cake. Not sure if we just got a bad batch since so many of the reviews speak highly of the churros, but our churro was cold, dry, and oily. I'm not really sure what happened, but long story short, we did not enjoy paying $6 for a churro that felt like it had been soaked in cold oil for 10 minutes. On a positive note, the churro was seasoned very generously with cinnamon sugar and the vibe of eating food next to the water is hard to beat. I'd probably try their funnel cake if I'm ever in the area again.
