First impressions are lasting ones. After reviewing restaurants around the Lake Mary area, my girlfriend and I stumbled on Memories of India and let me tell you...we walked out of this place without even knowing what the free tap water tastes like, this is how incredibly poor the customer service was.
The only satisfying part was being seated quickly and by the exit. Funny enough the wait time wasn't too long to feel unwanted. Approximately five minutes after being seated, my partner and I weren't even greeted by the waitor, so I couldn't even tell you his name. If I was to call him anything it would be Mr. RUDE. A little back story, another couple seated after us, he quickly approached their table and asked for their drink orders. When the lady just said water, he then asked if she wanted ice or no ice, the patiently waited on her indecisive reply and then told her he will bring her ice later if she wanted. A minute later, he approached our table asking what we would like to drink and as soon as my partner stated "two waters and...", BEFORE anything else could be uttered, he immediately stated "I'm only taking food orders, we are very busy I will be back for your order when you are ready." The complete shock took me out of my seat. However, my partner without realizing the waitor walked away stated the remainder of her order. She literally looked up only because I scuffed in horror! I even glanced over at two gentlemen waiting on to go orders by the door and with the look on their faces told me they also witnessed this absurd rudeness. I then looked over at her and said, this is unacceptable, especially this kind of behavior from an adult, let alone an establishment that allows this behavior from their staff. We gathered our belongings, I approached the waitor said goodbye and as we were crossing paths with the two gentlemen who made eye contact after the incident, they looked like school children with their heads and eyes staring down to the ground.
Please tell your waitor thank you for sending your business else where.
Looking back, I'm glad we left. The menus were sticky, no sanitizer anywhere and not even one sign up advising of masks recommendations per the CDC. Not to mention aside from the RUDE CUSTOMER SERVICE EXPERIENCE if you can't even manage to put tap water down within the first ten minutes of seating your customers because you're BUSY, that's is a...
Read moreAs a food critic with high standards, it takes a lot to impress me. But Memories of India in Lake Mary, Florida did just that, and more. From the moment I stepped inside the restaurant, I was transported to a world of vibrant colors, tantalizing aromas, and warm hospitality. I can confidently say that this place has made me happier than any other dining establishment in my life.
Let's start with the food - the star of any restaurant. Memories of India blew me away with its exquisite Indian cuisine, prepared with fresh ingredients and expertly spiced to perfection. From the creamy and indulgent dal makhani to the complex and flavorful Nava Tar-an Korma, each dish was a masterpiece in its own right. The bread basket was a delightful surprise, featuring a range of naans and parathas that were light, fluffy, and wonderfully fragrant.
But what truly made Memories of India stand out was the service. The staff was attentive, knowledgeable, and genuinely invested in making sure that every customer had an exceptional dining experience. The owner, in particular, went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and to ensure that we had everything we needed.
The ambiance of the restaurant was equally impressive. The décor was a stunning blend of traditional and modern elements, with vibrant colors and intricate patterns adorning every surface. The lighting was soft and warm, creating a cozy and inviting atmosphere that made us feel right at home.
Overall, Memories of India is a culinary gem that has left an indelible impression on me. The food, service, and ambiance all work in perfect harmony to create a truly unforgettable dining experience. If you're looking for a restaurant that will make you happier than any other place in your life, then look no further than Memories of India in Lake...
Read moreWe went with the family for Mother's Day Buffet. The have increased the price on that day of buffet to 16.99 for adults and 10.99 for kids. This price for buffet was exceptionally high. We thought to still had buffet and wanted to make mother's day special for my wife and kids. To our utter surprise when we went in and saw the items there were very few or close to none items for vegetarian folks like us. My son already picked up the plate and put some items. I talked to manager and told him that being vegetarian we do not have any choices at all and my kid already started eating but we want to cancel and have him leave in between. We will go somewhere else and have lunch but there is no point of spending 16.99 for adult and 10.99 for a kid when you do not have many choices for vegetarians. Manager was very rude. I told him that if this is the way you are talking and not accepting the fact that you do not have anything to eat for vegetarians and that too on special day like today, then I will go online and post genuine feedback about it. He said he is aware of it and does not care. Such a pathetic and unapologetic response I was not expecting. We were completely disappointed with our today's visit and will never visit again. Looks like they ate ripping off people in the name of special buffet and providing very less number of options. The main thing is that their...
