When the hotel has to put a sign on the front window saying "no prostitution allowed", it's probably a sign you should turn back around and find another hotel.||||The hotel is located down a VERY sketchy alley with an even more sketchy burnt-down and fully graffiti'd building directly across the street from it. Another not-so-great sign.||||I did appreciate the free parking out front, but there is no security and another sign saying any theft, damage or injury (?) is your own responsibility. You'll hear cars sitting out front and blasting music loud even in your rooms.||||The room itself looks much better, until you look closer. Blood splatter spots (dried, fortunately) along almost every single wall. Footprints all over the walls. Feces on the toilet along with half-used toilet paper from the last guests. Mystery "Liquid stains" on the walls. The cable box is literally hanging from the wall because the cord/desk aren't tall enough to hold it. That's okay because the TV does not work - the manager suggesting unplugging it for 20 minutes to reset it. When that didn't work, he came to the room and climbed on the tv stand for an hour, hitting the tv to try to fix it. It did eventually turn on for about 5 minutes before going out again. He told us to "wait 2 hours and see if it works" - it's clear this TV does not work and these are just stalls for time.||||We paid extra for a "smoking room" which is the only reason we chose this hotel (most others are now non-smoking only). Note that any smoking in the room will still set off the very loud fire alarm in the room, so watch out. Fortunately the hotel seems to be rather old school, so there are no sprinklers in the rooms.||||The ceilings are painted blue with white clouds. I imagine this is painted to cover up previous ceiling damage as you can see staining underneath the paint.||||There is no coffee maker, mini bar or iron/ironing board but there is a microwave that makes a loud clunking noise every second. It kind of works though!||There's also a mini fridge with 3 feet that doesn't close properly, so it mostly keeps things "slightly below room temp" but not quite cold. Don't trust leftovers or ice in there, but it will keep drinks "kinda cold" which is a good sign. I didn't try the ice machine, but apparently you've gotta pay.||||The walls are extremely thin, so expect to hear your neighbors and any water being used within the hotel.||||There's dust on every single surface and mold up at the top of the rooms. Keep an eye out for the "hand marks" gripping the backboards of the bed.||We were told there were no other smoking rooms available. They offered us a non-smoking room (which defeated the purpose of the trip and would likely be just as bad).||||I will say the bed looked clean which is the only reason we stayed.||||We got in around 8pm and left by 6am.||||After notifying the manager of all of these issues, they refused anything besides a 10% discount next time we stay at this hotel. Not even a 10% refund. A 10% discount on our next stay there. I expect they get many "single time visitors" here.||||The 24/7 front desk is usually empty. It looks like the workers are sleeping in the back whenever you call for them to come to the front - it looks like they just woke up.||||I rate this slightly above sleeping in skid row.||||2 last notes: While I did not have any guests over, it is apparently very common for the management to come knocking on your door (repeatedly!) if they feel anyone else has entered your room. Lots of reviews from others saying that friends or family members stopping in to visit (not staying the night) are immediately kicked out. Others also report a $200 cash deposit at check-in, but I did not get...

Read moreIf I could give this place 0 star’s I would. I booked this hotel Nov 4, 2021, which was a mistake. I arrived around 8/9 pm that day, and when I arrived there was an abandoned building right next door which already made this hotel seem sketchy. I go to the front desk, which the door was locked so I could not go in to speak to someone, rang the doorbell, and waited for a few minutes for someone to come greet me. He was not very friendly and when I asked for him to repeat stuff because I couldn’t hear him, he was very irritated. At this point my friend wanted to leave, but I told her it was fine. It was not fine. We get into our room and it looks like it’s meant for prostitute’s. Everything felt dirty inside. My Friend and I sat on the edge of the bed discussing if we wanted to stay here or not, and I kept telling her it was fine. Once she calmed down just a little we realized the door to the bathroom locked from the outside, which was weird and started making me feel a little uncomfortable. Then, the smoke detector kept beeping because the batteries were dead. I called the front desk to ask him to change it and he gets to my room, takes his shoes off and puts his dirty feet onto the desk to take the smoke detector. As he is walking out he says “I’ll bring this back tomorrow,” which is unacceptable in anyway. I asked him why he wouldn’t bring it back that night and he told me it was fine. I asked him if it was fine we burned to death? and he looked at me like I was stupid for wanting my smoke detector in my room. Gave a huff about it and brought one back in. That is what sealed the deal to me not wanting to stay here anymore. Once we get downstairs, we put our stuff in the car, and go to the front desk and tell him that due to safety concerns we did not want to be staying at this establishment and we wanted a refund. He was outraged and said “it’s fine I brought your smoke detector back.” As we’re going back and forth, a women who seemed really suspicious started talking to us and said “I’m not from around here can you help me out,” I told her no and then she said the hotel prices here are expensive and the front desk man was rude and then proceeded to name all the hotels around the area. To top it all off after everything happened, she started blocking my car in so I could not leave, and then started following my friend and I....
