I recently took my boutique clothing in a new direction that is going to require me to be in Los Angeles for a week at a time at LEAST twice a year but it's more likely going to be an every three month thing. Having never been to LA, I did a ton of research prior to booking this hotel because I wanted it to be my home away from home, I wanted it to be affordable, and I wanted a courteous staff where people would learn my name. I had it boiled down to Indigo and the Hoxton and was feeling a tinge of regret prior to going to LA because I thought I had made the wrong decision. But, for once, I was so glad I was wrong and so happy I ended up at the Hotel Indigo. It was everything I wanted. I arrive and got checked in my room at noon which was awesome after the seven hour flight (It was first class, but let's face it...flying is just NOT fun. Especially if you're Gen X like me and remember what flying was like pre 9/11 when you got a real meal instead of tiny bag of peanuts and a spork.) My room was suppose to have a city view, but it was actually of the building behind the Indigo and the freeway. I did't care. I kept the blackout curtains closed almost the entire time, anyway. I loved the spacious shower and all glass doors as well as the bed and how firm it was! I don't like feeling like I'm sleeping on a huge pillow. I like my pillows soft and my beds firm. This was perfect. Even the body pillow became something I looked forward to every night. I also loved that I could order my breakfast and leave it hanging on my door the night before and it would be delivered at a specified time that I picked out so I didn't have to wait, something I am not good at doing. I'm a tad impatient. The hotel is relatively new and had a new, fresh feel and look to it which was a refreshing change from the stodgy Biltmore or the overpriced Ritz Carlton. The hotel is 18 floors and not that big so the staff was small and I saw the same faces every day. That's comforting to me because again, if I'm going to be out there a month out of the year, then it was important that I felt like home. The room service food was excellent, but I didn't at the restaurant itself, so I cannot speak so much about that part of the hotel, but the eggs Benedict was amazing and I had it four days in a row! The ice machine was close, the bar was easily accessible and Viet, the bartender, was a total delight and an absolute HOOT! He made a craft drink for me called the black and violet and it was so good I had three. I was drunk. I'm not a big drinker so I rarely have more than one, so the fact that I had three speaks volumes as to how good that drink was! They have a nice business center, a cool pool (but I'm from Florida...pools do not really excite me since virtually everyone has a pool) and they have a lounge on the 18th floor that's really nice with a fantastic view of the city. I am going back to the Indigo in a few weeks and I'm more excited to be back at the hotel and having a black and violet, ordering my eggs Benedict, recovering from jet lag in my firm bed with my arms and legs thrown over the body pillow. And Of course, I can't wait to see Viet again! (He created the black and violet). OH YEAH! A block south, a block south, a half a block east and then another half a block south is a mall with a Super Target and CVS which was VERY handy since I brought half of my entire wardrobe but forgot my hairbrush. They also had a Zara, Starbucks and a Nordstrom's. I'm hoping my upcoming stay I will get to explore more. I've booked an extra night at the hotel because I need a day to recover from the jet lag. Flying 7 hours west and then it only being a couple of hours via the atomic clock really does a number on me. I never did quite recover. This time I am taking the first day and test the firmness of the bed and try something new from room service. But I'll go down later and have a handcrafted cocktail with my new friend Viet. I cannot wait! And don't hesitate to book a room here. It's expensive to stay anywhere in LA, but this is like a five star hotel at three to four star prices. I do not think I will miss the Ritz or the Mandarin Oriental. Indigo is my home away from home and I wouldn't dream of staying...

Hotel location, okay I guess. Its downtown LA. I didn’t explore much around as I was there for just one night. The theme for the hotel is dark and moody. The lobby is beautiful. The rooms has a modern look. People complained about not enough hot water but during my night, I had ample of hot water. Had a noisy neighbor either above or next to me. Sounded like they were dragging furniture around. Service from front desk was nice. I was acknowledge as an IHG Premier Member.
STAY AWAY FROM THIS HOTEL!!!!!
I had read reviews prior to coming and didn’t think I would be charge for anything excessive like what others stated but yep, I did. I stayed here on 4/13/23 and check out 4/14/23. Only need one night here as I was heading to Indio for Coachella the next morning. A week later $161.70 post on my IHG credit card on 4/18/23. I called Hotel Indigo directly 4/25/23 to get a receipt so I can see why I’m being charged. I used my free reward night certificate for this stay plus an additional 14,000 points. Front desk told me there’s no charge for $161.70. They show my reservation for that night was cancel. Soooo… they show there couldn’t have been a charge for $161.70 as there is no billing. WRONGGGG!!!! I told the rep, I slept there that night! They even acknowledge that I was an IHG Premier Member. I have proof! My Google map timeline shows I was there that night. I even have an IG snap of the downtown view from my room. The charge is clearly on my CHASE IHG Credit Card transaction. The Rep just referred me to contact IHG directly which I did. I called IHG (877) 424-2449. Told them everything. They stated they will reach out to the hotel directly and launch an investigation, allow 48hrs for call back. Well, 48hr passed. I called this morning to IHG. Was told they called Hotel Indigo and there’s no charge for $161.70. Reservation was cancel. Rep advises me to reach out to Hotel Indigo directly and they have access to their own billing. NO!!! I will not be given the round around between both of them. Now I have to dispute this charge with Chase bank directly as Hotel Indigo has no record of billing me $161.70 and IHG has no idea what to do. Per Chase rep, they will file an investigation with Hotel Indigo’s bank for the charge of $161.70.
By the way, their valet parking service is through 3rd party company. They only accept CASH. Found this out when I ask if the valet charge can be added to my room, I was told no. Hotel Indigo is being sneaky charging for things then have no records of billing you. IHG needs to cancel their contract with Hotel Indigo.
** UPDATE 6/5/23 chase sent my disput the hotel indigo credit merchant. they have the audacity to say $161.70 is for valet parking! how ridiculous can they be, even their damn website says valet is only $49. i only stayed one night!

Update Immediately received an email after posting this review with contact information. After being ghosted for 3 months from the insurance company. Here is their reply:
"Please know that the State of California has strict laws and limitations that apply to claims against innkeepers such as yours. This letter is to inform you that upon completion of our investigation, we find there is no liability on the part of our client. Therefore, we will be unable to assist you with any settlement of damages, or costs, which you may have incurred from this accident."
So please know, that if you stay here, and your belongings go missing, they are not responsible and they do not help at all. Your things are not safe at this hotel, and they do not care about providing a comfortable stay to boot. We have to travel to DTLA several times a year for tournaments, we will be sure to spread the word to other families and clubs that this hotel is not a good option.
*My husband wrote the review below, but to update 3 months later. The hotel has still not given the proper information to the insurance company to process our claim and reimburse us for the stolen jacket.
I don't think I have ever written a negative review on any platform. Too much negativity in the world, but there are some serious red flags here. We booked there because of the proximity to the LA Convention Center and because we could reserve a room with two beds. My 15 year old was playing in a tournament all weekend. We got there about an hour before check in time but they couldn't get us in early. No big deal. They stored luggage and my wife and I went to watch our son play until about 10 pm when we arrive to check in but they only have rooms with a single King size. They try to tell me they are "upgrading our room" and they won't charge us for the roll away bed. About 45 minutes later I call to ask about the bed. They tell me it's on the way. 30 minutes later I call again it's on the way they insist. My son is exhausted and has to get up and play again all day. I go down and ask employee to just show me where the beds are stored and I'll bring it there myself. It is past midnight now. The assistant manager promises me she will make sure it gets there. Another 20 minutes later and finally another manager knocks on the door to tell us that there are no more roll away beds. He offers us an additional room so we split up. The next day we pack up because they say they will get us a room with two beds. While we are gone they move our bags for us, only my wife's Patagonia jacket is left behind. When we arrive and realize it is not with our stuff we ask to be let into the other room to retrieve it. It is gone and the room has already been prepared for the next guests. We are still civil but ask if they can check "lost and found" hoping that it didn't make the move but was found later by other employees working in the room. The staff at the front desk became defensive and felt I was accusing them of theft or had just lost it ourselves somewhere else. The jacket style is no longer made and can't be replaced. We have been contacted by the hotel's insurance company and are hoping to at least be refunded the cost of the jacket. Probably a great spot if you want to go to the club there. Do not bring a family. Club goers while intoxicated were fine. It was random junkies and others off the street sneaking in and out of the lobby and roaming the halls of the hotel that...
