I stayed here by myself for the better part of a week and was only looking for a room to sleep in after a full schedule running from the early morning until late at night so your experience may vary. Overall it was a good experience but I can't really rate them higher than 3 stars due to a number of small issues that added up
Pros: The employees have great customer service and were able to get me checked in several hours early. It also has a great location centered between the convention center and a number of places to eat. At night the area felt relatively safe which was a major factor for me staying there. Their daily service charge was lower than other similar hotel options in the vicinity. The room seemed just the right size for someone focused on keeping busy in the area rather than spending a lot of time in the room. The ironing board and iron provided in the room really helped out after some tight packing.
Cons: There appears to have been some odd choices here during a renovation. First the hallways are dimly lit which looks to be a result of cutting corners on the lighting after running new HVAC ducts along the ceiling. In the room itself it looks like they moved the shower door to be the bathroom door. With no curtain and only a a short wall to stop the water it was a pain trying to shower without flooding the floor. For general maintenance and cleaning they also came up a bit behind. The grouting and caulk around the bathroom was deteriorating with signs of mold/mildew buildup. The shower head had a low flow rate compared to the handheld and looked like it was clogged with limescale. The HVAC unit in the room had thick dark colored buildup on it which I can only hope was just caked on dust/dirt. The dressers were covered with something sticky like an old soda spill was never cleaned up.
Suggestions: They pay a bit more attention to preventative maintenance/cleaning in the rooms to enhance the experience for their customers. It is usually far cheaper to take care of issues when they first start rather than let them snowball out of control. Testing various fixtures and appliances between guests could go a very long way with this as well. They should also invest in finishing the showers with a door or curtain to prevent flooding into rooms below along with making things easier on...
Read moreI stayed here from June 30-July 4th and was really happy with my stay. I flew in for an event that was at the convention center so the hotel location was pretty good to walk to the con center everyday. Sure other hotels were closer, but they were also more expensive. The room was a pretty good size, was clean and comfortable. I didn't feel cramped at all during my stay. The view wasn't spectacular, but I wasn't there for the view, I was there for the convention so that lack did not bother me one tiny bit. The hallway was a bit dim, but again, it had no impact on my room or why I was there, so it did not bother me one bit. The room also had a mini fridge, which was definitely helpful when we had extra food, however no microwave to heat the food back up :(
The staff was quite friendly and helpful where they could. I would have liked that they were a bit more educated on their surroundings (food/stores) and what shuttles were available to those who needed to move around the city (ie to the airport and back), but for the most part I have zero trouble with them. There is a mandatory $14 charge per day, which is not included in your initial charge upon check in. It covers things such as wi-fi, 2 free bottles of water per day (i did get 3 one day), continental breakfast, free newspaper delivery, access to gold's gym, etc. For me, the breakfast, wi-fi and free water was worth the $14, but I wish it would have been included in the check in charge instead of dropped on me later.
I did not have a car, so I cannot review the parking, however there is a garage right next to the hotel, so if you have a car, I would assume it would be an easy place to park. (I THINK it was $18 for a full day, but I cannot remember exactly). There are a few bars right next to the hotel, however with the window closed, I did not hear any loud music or shouting. Some other good points is that there is an IHOP right across the street, a starbucks about a block or so south from the hotel and a Ralph's (groceries) a block south.
Overall, I'm glad I booked this hotel and was quite satisfied with the trip. I will definitely book at this hotel again next...

It features a fantastic location in the heart of downtown LA, with a casual stylish atmosphere and exceptional customer service.
I arrived EARLY after taking the overnight Amtrak train from Tucson. A quick Uber ride took me to the hotel where I was greeted by the front desk staff. It is an appreciated security protocol that you need to scan a room key to enter between 12am-6am. I made myself comfy in the lobby until the free continental breakfast opened at 6:30am, with much needed caffeine and solid options to suit my plant-based diet. I instantly realized that this hotel attracts a wide variety of travelers from around the world and enjoyed conversations with guests from Australia, Sri Lanka and all over the USA.
There are a few casual multi-purpose spaces which served me well during this visit, offering me a quiet space to work, read and meet with colleagues. It is also walking distance from my company's office, the subway and several other hotel and restaurant venues that we visited during our stay in LA. (Oh and the 460 bus to Disneyland even picks up right around the corner!)
The general manager Sy is an absolute gem! Personable and attentive, he really made our group feel welcome and was available for anything we needed. Top notch customer service which extends to the rest of the staff.
I had the most beautiful room with so many thoughtful touches! Clean and comfortable with cool artwork, a big window that actually opens, a Nespresso machine (that I never used because the coffee in the breakfast room was so good & convenient), iphone docking station/speaker, mood lighting, a mini-fridge (perfect for keeping a few vegan snacks and drinks handy), a great workstation with reliable internet, sustainable and gender-neutral bath products and a super comfy bed!
This hotel honestly felt like a home away from home and allowed me the ease and flexibility I needed to thrive during my busy and fun trip to LA! I would definitely stay here again and highly recommend to anyone looking to have their expectations exceeded for a boutique 3-star...
