I came here to dine by myself for lunch:
PROS: the mango lassi was cold and refreshing. It was tasty! The naan was fluffy and was an adequate portion for the butter chicken I had. I asked for the dish to have medium spice; I was able to handle it. It was flavorful without being overbearing.
CONS: I don't want to speculate, as I could be wrong and I don't want to assign motives that aren't there, but I received less service than the other two tables that were occupied by men.
My server (a man) went to the other two tables to top off their water twice. My table wasn't even approached, let alone glanced at. I needed a water refill, and as you can see in the photo provided, I had my water glass clearly visible to a passerby.
The third time he went to top off their water, he approached me and topped me off. He asked if I was enjoying the meal and I affirmed. He walked away. I felt like obligation, versus him being a bit more lively for the men.
A middle-aged woman went to top off their water a fourth time, but again, didn't approach my table, nor make eye contact.
I don't know why my table was overlooked. I would have enjoyed more water.
The food was tasty. The service was underwhelming and minimal.
I actually would have come back cause I did enjoy the food (I was here for a convention), but due to the quality of service, I decided to try...
Read moreMade the mistake of coming here a night after a lakers game nearby. This review could be influenced by the fact that I went there about 40 minutes before closing time so maybe they were wrapping things up.
Anyways me and my friend walked into the restaurant which was empty and we took a seat at the 4 seater table closest to us. The waiter told us to move to a different table because apparently "there might be more customers and we have to save the larger table for them", which made no sense cause the restaurant is literally empty. He said he won't be able to serve us until we move which was quite rude. I said if more people do come in to the restaurant, we'll move(Spoiler Alert : No one came in).
We placed our order, the food comes and it is just bland and terrible. I don't know if they rushed it out because it was closing hours or they gave me leftovers from the night but it was just awful. Maybe it was revenge for the table. Either ways it wasn't worth it. It wasn't even hot. We asked for a reheat and it was still the same.
Honestly pretty disappointing. I do want to believe that this review is influenced by the time we went and our interaction with the server, but their attitude makes it seem otherwise....
Read moreIt's probably some of the best Indian food that I've had in DTLA. Everything is nicely seasoned, flavors are vibrant and their meat/fish/poultry is always perfectly cooked.
That said, please order from them knowing that the entire menu is a la carte. No naan, no rice, no daal - Nothing. Nothing will come with your entree.... like, not a thing. The $4 add-on that's on their Uber eats menu is also a jip. You will laugh when you see the little half cup of rice that you get. It also bugs me that when you order over the phone, they don't even try to up sell you, and ask you if want some rice or anything on the side with your order....but maybe I'm the only who gets mad at stuff like that. (I like to eat!)
This might be deada** wrong, but if you're driving anyway, and have some extra time on your hands, there are some GREAT Indian restaurants in Woodland Hills, that are just as tasty and delicious (if not more) and you'll get almost 2-3x the portion... with rice... and naan... and maybe even daal on a good day.
(If I didn't feel like this review was already teetering on the line of disrespect, I would copy and paste the names here for whoever's reading lol - Good...
