I came here last night (Sunday 2/25) with a friend and had one of the oddest experiences with a waitress. My friend arrived first and ordered a drink and sweet potato fries. I arrived less than 10 minutes later. I was told the waitress would be right over but didn’t see her for a good 15 minutes. I ordered my drink and asked to close out the tab as I was paying with cash. The drink was $17 dollars. She never came back with my change. I was going to leave her the change anyway but I was bothered that she felt entitled to them as if I didn’t have a choice. She stopped by 3 different times to ask us what we ordered, another time if we were still waiting for our food..? Like, do you remember bringing it out?/ do you see it on the table? The sweet potatoes fries took 1 hour to come out. At this point I’m irked about the late fries and my change.
When she brought out the fries, I asked her for my change. She aggressively let me know it was $2 and some change. I didn’t budge and said ok letting her know I was 100% expecting my changed back. She left and came back, but instead of having my change back she came to ask again if I was sure I wanted the change back as the drink had been $17 and tip would usually be $2. I was flabbergasted. I told her it was not okay to assume or feel entitlement over someone’s money. I get to choose if or how much I want to leave.
This woman came back one more time and instead of bringing me my change. Asked me if there was something wrong with the service? I was extremely irritated at this point and let her know exactly what was wrong: 1) you took my money without my permission and held it hostage when I repeatedly asked you to give it back. 2) I didn’t see you for 15 minutes after I sat down. 3) the sweet potato fries took one hour + to come out.
She made a comment about chatting with the manager. Didn’t even apologize if I remember correctly. Had this snarky entitled attitude at every encounter I had with her. She came back with 2 tequila shots. And my change. We left her the $2 she was begging for and even an extra $1 for the shot but damn was that bizarre. I worked in service for years and had never seen or hear of...
Read moreHello loves, A friend wanted to go on Melrose for a certain look he was thinking about for his birthday but, did not find it... So he wanted a cocktail and asked if I wanted i really did not. We're walking back toward the car and a place to pop in for champagne, we happened upon this place ... it is totally not my type/ kind of spot ... We go in, there are some people there at the bar and a few tables a guy pops up from one of the tables says hello (he was nice) and ask have we been there before (my friend went directly to the bathroom upon entering, so he has two menu's opened one to explain about food / cocktails and it was so dirty and looked like it was hung up to dry after someone spilling a drink. The nice guy hands me one of the menu's I said no I don't want it it dirty he said it's a bar and people spill drinks haha thank you but, no thank you. My friend came out the bathroom we sat at the bar. This place was Dusty! Needed a really good cleaning wipe down etc. The look and they were going for was vintage very old but, you can still do that look and have it nice and clean. My friend ordered his drink which he thought was champagne and added st-germain and a splash of something else, it was not champagne and how we found out because he wanted me to order a drink so I said fine I'll take a champagne which one is the best to have and he said oh we have this it's not champagne but it's a sparkling wine I said okay I'll take that it was good, I know champagne is made in France and it's still grapes it's still sparkling wine but there is a difference. Laugh Listen this may be your type of spot it wasn't mine the guys are friendly there they are nice. I would totally redo that place and have it still a vintage look that they would love that's what I do for...

I was meeting a few friends to celebrate a birthday, I got there a tad earlier just to check the place out. It's located right off the Main Street with street parking all around. It does not have a sign of business name so it is possible to pass up but if you pay close attention and look at the top it has art work of an Umbrella at the top front of the entrance.
The atmosphere and environment is so cool, relaxed and laid-back, it's very cozy for a date night or even a group gathering. The feel to the place is very modern rustic and lots of cool decor. The staff was very friendly and welcoming. It was a Saturday night and the crowd was just starting to arrive, lots of locals and hipsters. DJ does come on a little later at about 9:30-10pm and plays some unique old hits. The bartenders were super cool in explaining a few drinks and the top sellers, of course I had to go with a drink they suggested ;)
A couple of cool things, tables by the bar and dance floor are first come first serve, they don't/won't hold them for anyone but there is also tons of standing bar space and outdoor space to smoke and hang out. They have a Coffee hub located right behind the big main bar, they also work with the restaurant located towards the back of the dance floor, so the restaurant makes the appetizers for the bar and the bar makes the drinks for the restaurant. Unfortunately I did not get to try the food at the restaurant but it sure did smell good, the staff did mention that it does get busy so it's best to make reservations if you are ever interested in dinning there. If you check out the dinning let me know how it...
