I come here mainly, well now used to come here, because of how comfortable the establishment is and the quality of the food , however today I have never felt so uncomfortable . My business partner and I came to have lunch and brought two new patrons along to experience who are good friends of ours from out of town. We came in and were seated right away by a familiar face, ordered our food and beverages , then all of a sudden a very rude woman named Evelyn Joan decided that we were no longer allowed to be seated there. She physically grabbed my business partners beverage and then grabbed all of the silverware and said “They have to go outside” in a very aggressive manner. Evelyn was showing all of her aggression towards my business partner who is of African American descent. Once my business partner questioned why we were being forced to move outside Evelyn was very combative and escalated the situation to an extremely uncomfortable level, not just for us but for the other patrons who were forced to stop enjoying their meals to look over at our table to see what was going on. She said that we were only allowed to eat outside, mind you me and my business partner eat here a few times a week and we’re always welcomed inside. Todays experience with Evelyn Joans sent chills down my spine and made me loose my appetite and I will never eat at Mauro’s cafe again after today. I appreciate all of the waiter / waitresses / bussing staff who are always so friendly and accommodating when I dine here, however this is my first time ever meeting Evelyn Joan and she ruined my experience here forever. If Evelyn had an issue with my business partner that badly then she should have politely asked him to step aside in a private area to settle their differences , instead she publicly tried to throw us “outside” in the hot sun like we were a group of dogs that were not good enough to be at an inside table with air conditioning. I was so uncomfortable I had to just walk right to my car and leave. I wish nothing but luck and blessings to the nice employees at Mauros cafe, but upper management should really evaluate...
Read moreFind another Italian spot because your loyalty and respect after 10 years means nothing to them. They'll do great without you. I give it a 3 stars because I've been a fan of Fred's pasta for 10 yrs. I've been Patronizing this location for years. Customer service has never been their strong point but It's not at a spa so I don't need pampering. So I let the service go without a complaint for years. during the years it got better. I guess they noticed I was going to continue to come. I order the same thing with my daughter or friends I bring to join. When it's two people it ranging $30-$70 which is cheap, another reason I come. I usually go a average once a week. I have gone 3x in a week especially when I was pregnant but I craved chicken parm with arugula salad. My daughter was asked to never come back by the owner which is fine but I'm offended that her dislike or complaints about us got to this point. I've seen customers through out the years speak to waiters in a way I would never and never have. I have never spoken loud or disrespected a waiter or owner. The food is good for a budget, the service is very stand off ish not warm and friendly or even knowledgeable. I'm offended and disappointed at a business like this. I called to speak to the owner to apologize and left my number. Of course she wasn't there and hasn't called back. I would never go back! I even let go finding a fly in my salad. The waiter had to confused her with someone else because I can't possibly find a reason. He started with you always ask for extra pink sauce on the side which she doesn't. Anyway I hope he's not going through anything personally that would have him so annoyed with a customer from the moment she sat down. Wish this business all the best. If their ever was a problem as often as I go we could of talked out it causally and it wouldn't of...
Read moreWow what a treasure! Visiting granddaughters in the area and celebrating wife’s birthday. Arrived it’s 1.15p reservations in a Saturday. Promptly greeted and seated like family. Honestly genuine and warm greeting from the staff. Super special vibe!
We ordered the Bruschetta appetizer a few glasses of wine and waited on lunch. The service was prompt and the food was cooked and served quickly. Again, the servers and support staff were superb. The food was awesome.
I was in the mood for carbonara but did not find it on the menu so I ordered the Penne Porcini and asked for bacon to be added. That turned out fantastic! The other dishes were a hit as well. The lamb shank was fall off the bone and beautifully seasoned. The Penne Primavera was cooked in point and the vegetables and tomato were flavorful. The Fred’s pasta looks like a favorite and was very pleasing.
We shared a carrot cake and tiramisu for dessert, had an espresso, decaf Cappuccino and a latte- all on point! Fabulous meal and hope to return soon!...
