Me and my Family were so happy to try this place because of Nips legacy. But I was honestly disappointed. The servers were very rude the order took 1hr and a half not to mention. When I got my food it was cold. And I didn’t understand why when it took so long to be cooked I would have thought it would have been hot at least my burgers were missing all the toppings. All it had was mustard and ketchup and cheese. My shrimp were burnt and un edible. The chicken sandwich was burnt but my sister N law said it was seasoned but left a bitter taste after she takes a bite. Dave East was there and I’m thinking that’s why all the attention was on him and not the food. I also wouldn’t recommend taking your kids. Especially if you’re not a weed smoker. Which I didn’t mine the smoke But it was more the respect for the establishment there were people putting out blunts on the banisters outside smoking all by the door were people were eating. It was weed smoke everywhere. It was to the point we were wondering was weed in the food it smelled so much like weed in there. There was a white lady with her son and she had to ask him the wait in the car due to all the weed being smoke on the patio or courtyard whatever you want to call it and by the door. Security was rude and aggressive for no reason, and making people feel unwelcome it was bad enough. The servers felt like they didn’t wanna do their job. but didn’t mind the fact that Dave’s Entourage was putting out blunts and disrespecting the establishment by putting out the blunts on banisters where kids were eating outside . And security watched him do it, but didn’t mind but then seen another gentleman smoking and got an attitude and aggressive. And told him he couldn’t come in. Now back to the servers. The servers are very rude specially when taking your order. And they want you to be in a rush like them and know exactly what you’re ordering. Don’t ask questions because we asked what type of oil they fry their chicken in and the server told me she don’t know, She just takes the orders but didn’t say that she could ask. When taking the order she kept asking are you done. When I finally got are food they forgot the drinks and we had to wait extra time because everyone was behind and forgetting other peoples food. When I got back to my car and looked in the bags I didn’t even have a ketchup packet or sauce for the shrimp. that was dry and burnt. for $90.00 I would say the food could have been better and at least be hot. But the part that made it the were I’ll never come back is the employees. And the respect given to the customers. The whole environment made you feel unwanted. Also you don’t have to worry about going to Fig to see the hoes anymore they are now working the back street while there pimps sit and eat and smoke weed watch them work. I guess you can say everything to go...
Read moreI've been meaning to try this place for awhile but I'm rarely in the area. And when I am there is a LONNNNNNG line. I was in the area this morning and figured I'd stop by. They had just opened and I figured the line wouldn't be too long so the wait wouldn't be that long. I go in, there is no line and only one woman waiting for food. Cool. I order my food and I wait. And wait. And wait. And wait. And wait. I see the two gentlemen who ordered after me get their food. I see a woman who ordered after me get her food. I see another man who ordered after me get his food. At this point I'm seriously confused, so is another gentleman who had ordered right after me. Four customers had gotten their food before us. The gentleman asked where his food was and so did I. So I wait some more. Then the gentleman's order comes so now that makes FIVE PEOPLE who have gotten there order before me!!! I go up again and I ask where my food is and let them know 5 people got their food before me. That's when I was told that because I ordered a vegan patty that it takes a bit longer. Now, I'm very irritated that I had to wait but my biggest issue is the lack of transparency. If it takes longer for the vegan patty then just let customers. It's just about managing expectations. Of course, I'm going to feel a certain when no one has said a word to me about how long I'll have to wait and then I see all these customers getting their food. Now, what I will say is that after folks realized I had been there waiting (35 minutes) they couldn't have been nicer. They asked multiple times if I wanted anything to drink. They even gave me a complimentary dessert, which I appreciated. So, thank you for that. But just let folks know if it's going to be a long wait. I'm grateful that y'all even have...
Read moreMarathon Burgers – A True LA Experience Worth the Wait!
Spring Break adventures led us straight to Marathon Burgers, and let me tell you—it was worth every second! Our kiddo, a proud USC student (Go Gamecocks!), was set on heading to Cali, and as parents, we were determined to give her the ultimate tourist experience.
Hopped off a 5-hour flight, grabbed the rental, and made Marathon Burgers our first stop. The wait? HOUR & 15minutes. But WHO’S COMPLAINING? Not me! Not at all. After all, they’ opened 2weeks prior, and the demand speaks for itself. I’ve followed the Marathon Burgers story from the beginning, and stepping inside, it lived up to every expectation—and then some.
Now, let’s talk FOOD made with the freshest ingredients - and WAGYU beef! We ordered: • Two Smashburger combos • The Marathon Burger combo (the sauce, the peppers, the burger—whew, to die for!) • The Chicken Sandwich combo
Listen, I hardly ever eat beef, and you will probably never catch me eating a burger—BUT, for Marathon Burgers, I will always make an exception! They’ve won me over big time.
Beyond the food, the customer service was top-notch. We travel to LA often, and Marathon Burgers just became a must-stop every single time. Because here, we weren’t just treated like customers—we were treated like FAMILY. You can feel the energy and cohesiveness of the Marathon team. Huge THANKS to CHRIS!
And to top it off? We even got shirts!
Blacc Sam is doing his brother proud, he turned his pain into purpose honoring Nipsey’s legacy, and keeping the Marathon brand alive. If you’ve never witnessed “Brother’s Keeper” in action, I present to you: Blacc Sam.
Can’t wait to be back. The...
