I ordered by phone and I was told my order was going to be ready in 25 minutes. I got there within the time ,I paid and waited for another 20 minutes inside after being given a number. There's no area to wait it's just like a line in between people eating. Very awkward. I use to love coming to this place but I feel like it's not the same. I ordered the seafood soup and the shrimp fried rice. Everything is so rushed that it doesn't really taste flavorish and the rice seems more like Mexican rice than fried rice. Aside from all this the lady at the food station area was very rude. She was a skinny lady with what appeared to have blue contacts. She was telling at a man who didn't hear his number correctly and was rolling her eyes at me when I asked if she had given me a soup that had been sitting there the entire time I was waiting. I know businesses are stressed and don't have enough workers but please still be nice to the people who support you. **If you DINE IN, TIP doesn't go to the people cleaning tables or bringing you your food it's strictly for the people who take your order. If you try to personally hand the money to them they will kindly decline and say that they can lose their job for taking money. I support our hispanic people busting themselves but for a business to deny them some gratitude doesn't seem fair.

1 star- Quick Service, We got there and got seated pretty quickly. That’s about all I can review as far as positives go. I ordered Chinese Broccoli and for that dish it doesn’t come with rice? They force you to buy $5 worth of rice when they could mark the plate up $1 and add some damn rice on the dish itself. As far as food quality it was okay, pork was good and broccoli was cooked so not much to review there. Next item would be beef fried rice, pretty basic dish so I’ll keep it simple, wasn’t made same day, rice was dense and a touch chewy I’ve had better from China express inside a 7/11 lol. (Also it tasted like Peanut butter to me, maybe I’m crazy but felt I had to share) Last item ordered from menu, the hot pot of the seafood soup, I don’t like seafood soup much so this was more for my GF than myself but I had a little to try, I swear it was hot lemonade with a dash of red pepper. So weird to pass that as soup. Side note- how do they not have sticky rice?? Such a let down. All said and done around $45 after tax, Would I return? No. Would I recommend? Nope. Didn’t see what all the hype was about.

Food is Excellent and Portions are Good size! Family dinning experience. BEWARE: Most meals do not come with soup or salad. They are very famous for their soup, but you will need to order it separately, it does not come with most meals. Best to go with larger groups and everyone get one thing and it should be a good portion and variety for all. Prices are reasonable but again I stress the fact that if you order and entree, that is all you get. If you go alone or with another person, they have some combination options that may be best fit. •Waiters and waitresses wear street clothes. •This place is highly reviewed and highly rated. I have only been 1 time. I imagine the hype is around the quality food, the family dinning experience, and the relatively low cost of total meal for the Downtown LA area. •Positive environment inside the restaurant. Environment outside of the restaurant is not the nicest side of town. •Parking is terrible. If you come on a weekend, save yourself time and find free street parking and walk to the restaurant or get a Lyft from wherever you are coming from.

Ktown actually has a handful of Thai restaurants, and this block in particular has a few. Ocha Classic distinguishes itself nicely with some fine cuisine and approachable atmosphere, tempered mostly by some higher end prices and a truly inevitable parking setup.

The interior is decked with orange seats and wood awnings giving a unique Thai sensibility, but the colored lights and casual clientele make the restaurant feel very accessible. While many tables ordered soups which are served in a unique furry steel container, one thing of note is that basically every dish including the appetizers starts around 10, meaning that small groups will find it a little pricey to try several items on the menu.

As an individual I just went for the combo w(a 13.50 meal where you select from two main dishes and get a house soup, available all day). I got orange chicken and chow mein - that may sound suspiciously like a bad Chinese take out meal, but make no mistake it was uniquely Thai.

The noodles were thinner and had a light soy taste to them. Not bad, though not my style of noodle personally. Worth adding also that the beef (one of four options - beef, chicken, pork, or shrimp) while cut nice and thin, didn't feel that warm, as if it'd been taken out of a fridge and cooked until it was browned outside. For me the worst beef is chewy beef and this wasn't that, but certainly nothing to write home about. The meal also came with a very light soup - cilantro, mushrooms and green onions basically. I don't think I'd order it on its own (not that it looks like you can) but as part of the meal it was pleasant.

On the other hand, the orange chicken was by far the highlight though. Puffy light crust coats a juicy tender chicken that seems like it melts in your mouth - filling delicious and a sublime mix of textures - it was some of the best orange chicken I've ever had.

So some hit, some meh with the food, at a slightly above average price. It's a fine place, but I wouldn't go too far out of my way for it, especially with metered street parking being effectively non existent and the only alternative being a parking lot in the back which appears to charge $6 AFTER validation - an insane arrangement in this part of town, or any really.

It is in short a fine restaurant, with some reservations that make it not quite worth planning a trip around, but if you're already in the area certainly...

My rating is based on the poor costumer service and how unprofessional and poorly coordinated it is .My family and I have enjoyed the food here while we go out into town and visit LA for many years in the past .however the poor costumer service provided from the male employee they had hosting who was on shift between hrs 5-6pm sat jan 29 was completely unacceptable. My kids and I waited for over 30mins standing in a very long line they even asked how many in our group and we remained in line expecting to be seated . There were* NO SIGNS *outside of the building while waiting until you reach the entrance they have sings that were located in a poor view on how it is now mandatory to show your vaccination information in order to be seated. When it came to our turn they once again asked how many and then he processed to ask for proof of vaccinations and even repeated in Spanish as if we didn't understand what he was saying when were fluent in the English I began to ask the employee if we could take out he was busy attending the people behind us and in a rude manner just pointed to signs they had in this dirty hallway didn't even bother answering me back as if I'm not up to his standards to reply and thats when he just snatched a sign off the wall taped it outside which should of been done to begin with and walked away What a complete waste of time luckily I was able to scan the qr code but I was discouraged by then I just asked my husband to get take out within less then 15min the order was ready have we known we were going to get treated the way we did we would of never set foot at this establishment and waited as much as we did I still gave them business $60 worth not much but the money your getting from paying costumers should be respected unfortunately we will definitely not be stopping by there are other great thai food restaurant around LA area who know how to properly run a business and provide great costumer service and treat people fairly from all walks of life as a business...

There was a line in the front and back of the restaurant so I figured it was really good (went for my finances moms bday) and we waited and talked. We got seated right away when we got to the front of the line. It was PACKED so I understand that food quality and service won't be as good as normal but it doesn't excuse the poor quality meat flavors and service experienced. I'm not a seafood person so I had rice and orange chicken and that alone was worse than panda expresses (I'm being flat honest right now) the rice was undercooked and dry so I was like okay maybe it's like that because you eat it with the soup but I don't like the soup so I ate it alone (also I hadn't eaten all day so my taste buds were very sensitive). The sauce for the orange chicken was good but the chicken was little to non-existent (also only dark meat) mostly breaded tbh. The beef fried rice tasted like fish (?????) The chowmein tasted like fish (?????). I know it was a fish heavy spot but a BEEF flavored rice should NOT taste like fish. The water was little to no unfiltered tap water. Dishes were wet and made the table wet I kept wiping the table down. Chowmein looked paler than ramen noodle packets. (Also looked like a packet of noodles). Like I get it's busy but not only was the food very low quality for a 30 min wait in line but ALSO the service forgetting our drinks (we had finished our food before we got our teas) and then they billed us incorrectly and we had to reach out numerous times to remind them that we haven't received something. It was a 6 person table. We had 3 minutes to decide on what we wanted to drink for food and the menus were gone. Took about 10 minutes for the food and 20 for the drinks (not including the tap water). I am usually very understanding but this was worse than the burger king I got food...
