OK. I AM A BIG FAN OF VIN THAI FOOD RESTAURANT. I HAVE ALWAYS GONE TO A LOCATION IN HOLLYWOOD. IT HAS BEEN MY SPOT FOR YEARS. DELICIOUS FOOD EVERY SINGLE TIME. THIS TIME I WAS IN DOWNTOWN LA. GOT REALLY HUNGRY AND WHEN I GOOGLED VIM THAI FOOD , THIS LOCATION WAS THE CLOSEST ONE. IT TOOK ME ONLY A COUPLE OF MINUTES TO GET THERE. SO I ORDERED THE FISH SOUP AND THE COMBINATION RICE. USUALLY IT TAKES AT LEAST 10 TO 15 MINUTES FOR THE FOOD TO BE READY. IT TAKES A LITTLE LONGER IF THE RESTAURANT IS FULL. WELL, IN THIS LOCATION, MY FOOD WAS ON MY TABLE IN A RECORD BREAKING 3 MINUTES AFTER I HAD PLACED THE ORDER. I WASN'T EXCITED ABOUT THAT BECAUSE I KNEW THAT WAS A BAD SIGN. MY RICE WAS NOT EVEN WARM. AND IT WAS HARD TOO. MY SOUP WASN'T HOT AT ALL. SALTY AS HELL. AND NO FLAVOR AT ALL. THE CHILLI OIL WASN'T SPICY AT ALL! I AM NEVER COMING BACK TO THIS LOCATION....

I used to come here with my family and I recently came back and Omg what a change and not a good one. My dad ordered rice with shrimp and they gave us 3 shrimps, he had to find the shrimp in the rice because they literally just put 3 little shrimps. I ordered a shrimp with garlic and behold only 5 shrimps and the garlic was burnt and the most bitter thing I have ever tasted. The only good thing from that experience was the coconut chicken soup that was bomb, but even it came with limited Chicken. Wouldn't come back at all, so expensive and no quality...

This restaurant is always busy and we finally decided to give it a try. Everything from start to finish was great, however when it came to one item on the menu we were a bit disappointed. The pineapple in the pineapple fried rice was not fresh and after they mentioned it came from a can you can still tell that even that one was not fresh at all. Manager was nice enough to ask if we wanted a new one w/o pineapple to go which we kindly declined. Poor taste on that but besides that everything...

The place is lively and busy until closing time. Food was delivered quickly, and the portions were generous. We asked for the coconut mushroom shrimp soup, and for the Chinese sausage and pork fried rice. 🍚 The meat in the rice was flavourful, and the rice itself had some hints of the lard used to cook it, giving it depth. 🍲 The soup was citric (thanks to the lemongrass) and thin. The shrimp had been cooked outside of the soup, and had its own distinctive flavor.

Second time I buy on this location during the pandemic hoping to get somewhat of a great service since one can't eat here. But for the second time that I buy the seafood soup it is so salty but so salty I'm just wondering why? Do they not taste before its done? Also why is the kung pao, and teriyaki so watery? I really hope this changes, I but I will not come back to this location.

I've been coming to this place for over 20 years, and literally order the same ting, from when I was a child and a family tradition for my parents and us, now it is my tradition with my wife and kids. I am just glad my wife likes it as much as I do, makes for the 2 hour drive worth it. Lol
