I could give this zero star if I could. This incident happened today 12/23/18 at 7:40 am. I wanted to buy a muffin, a cake, and a water. The cashier instead only sold me water and muffin. No cake. And though I decided not to get the cookies I was grabbing, she put it on the transaction. When I saw the receipt I was confused. So now I don't have my cake and saw a purchase I did not want. So I asked her for explaination since it was confusing. The cashier--with a fullsilade of words thrown at me--said " I did not charge you for the cookies...do the math...do the math". She proceed to "do the math" for me and I was extremely confused by then. In that moment I felt unsafe and threatened by her rising anger--she was raising her voice ever so louder at me and acted as if I'm a nuisance for asking for a kind words explaining what happened. Anyway I walked away. But seriously I felt like that cashier would have jumped me if she wasn't working in this environment. My extinc was telling to get out... I understand that this is an airport. These people in customer service probably have to deal with many difficult customers in a stressed out environment....but this incident hurt my heart and I will never return to...
Read moreAs expected at an airport location, the lines at Peet’s are usually long—but I don’t mind, especially since the barista was working efficiently and keeping the line moving. About 2 to 3 weeks ago, I had a disappointing experience with one of the staff members.
While waiting, I noticed the female barista wasn’t very friendly. That alone didn’t bother me until I witnessed her being openly dismissive to another customer. An older woman politely asked to have her drink remade, saying it didn’t taste right compared to the Peet’s coffee she’s used to back home. Instead of responding with empathy, the barista replied, “Well, I don’t know what to tell you. That’s how our coffee is here.", and proceeded to be dismissive towards her.
The guest had to repeat her concerns and eventually the male barista stepped in to remake the drink, which he did without issue. I asked again and he pointed to a sign with font so small. The prescription for my glasses is really light but I couldn’t make out what the sign even said.
I go to pay and the cashier pauses the transaction, to flirt with another staff who walked to the front and leaned on to the counter. The cashier made me wait for nearly five minutes, while she was chatting. She never greeted me or said goodbye. She just asked me what I was having and didn’t bother to say the price or anything.
