From the resto name, prolly people could already guess the kind of dishes they served. I found it hooking as the theme was more fusion than single-themed. And hey, it's Venice! So obviously the design would be demure and the vibe was just bomb. Reservation's highly recommended as the place got very busy especially on weekends prime time.
Most of the dishes were perfect for sharing with 2-3 people. They're indeed more on the higher price range for the portion, but I guessed you got what you paid in terms of quality.
Curry Spiced Sashimi (7.5/10) Green Banana Patacones (7/10) Shrimp Dumplings (8.5/10) Fried Chicken Drumsticks (8/10)
My friend and I shared 4 dishes and we went home super full. Starting with the sashimi which was fresh and super flavorful with bold curry taste.
The Banana Patacones reminded me of my home country, Indonesia, where we did eat banana fritters with chili sauce. The 2 dipping sauces definitely elevated the simple fried banana itself. I somehow preferred the banana to be sweet ones so it gave the twist of sweet and savory.
The Shrimp Dumplings were doubtlessly my highlight from the dining table. It was surely nothing like any other dumplings you could think of, certainly thanks to the coconut bisque base served with the dumplings. They were so rich in seasoning and the taste was just mind-blowing with a hint of spicy kick.
The drumsticks were indeed fried chicken, but Si!Mon made it unique in their own version with the special seasonings coating the twice-fried chicken. It was awesome that it didn't feel greasy and the spicy ketchup well complemented the chicken.
There were definitely more I wanted to explore from the menu so would be looking forward to...
Read moreMy recent dining experience at Si! Mon was nothing short of a culinary odyssey, deserving a resounding five-star rating. Each dish I savored was a masterpiece, showcasing flavors and craftsmanship that are hard to find elsewhere.
Firstly, the Tuna Carpaccio Yuca Tostada was a revelation. It's a must-try, especially with its unique topping of smoked Achiote oil that elevated the dish to new heights.
The Pixbae Hummus Yuca Tostada, adorned with avocado, tomato, and a drizzle of honey vinegar, was a harmonious blend of flavors that tantalized my taste buds.
The Afro Caribbean Shrimp Dumplings in a coconut bisque, enhanced with charred scallion oil, were divine. A pro-tip: order some rice on the side, mix it into the sauce, and revel in its heavenly taste.
For those who appreciate the simpler pleasures, the Fried Chicken Drumsticks are a must. Double fried with herb salt and served with ketchup and a spicy sauce option, these drumsticks were a crispy, flavorful delight.
However, the star of the evening was the Krispy Pork Belly & Beans. This dish was a symphony of flavors, especially when wrapped in the provided lettuce leaves with mint and cilantro and dipped in the rich bean sauce.
Complementing the meal, the wine list was thoughtfully curated, pairing perfectly with the dishes. The service was impeccable, adding to the overall exceptional dining experience.
A side note for the aesthetically inclined: there's a separate bar and seating area at the back with beautifully wallpapered walls - perfect for capturing memorable moments.
For convenience, there's paid parking available nearby for just $10, open until 11pm.

Read morePretty disappointing experience, and I really don't get what's the hype is about.
First we made a reservation and said it was a birthday celebration and we'd like a table in the patio, but none of that was acknowledged.
We had to wait for 15min even though we arrived right on time with a reservation, and we could see there were multiple tables free in the patio but they had to make us wait for a table inside.
The place had bad insulation so it was extremely loud and noisy, hard to hear what the server says and even hard to have a conversation with my husband. The lighting was also super dark, hard to even read the menu, and difficult to get pictures of the food.
Food tasted just ok. It wasn't bad but also wasn't that great. I liked the surf clam ceviche, but the ribs was definitely a joke, only 6 tiny pieces for $19, I literally make better ribs at home lol. Rum marinated squid was also disappointing. And the steak was alright, I personally didn't like the potato cream that came with it. I didn't like the hot sauce that the server brought us and told them to take it away, and we were still charged $1 for it. Not a bit amount of money but it just makes you feel uncomfortable.
The cocktails were decent. Cloud Forest was really good.
The food came EXTREMELY SLOW. The first tiny dish came, and then it probably took them 30min to bring the next two dishes, and another 20min to bring the next.....
Nobody acknowledged my birthday at all. Didn't feel special. Sad birthday dinner.
Overall, very overpriced for extremely small portions, aesthetically pleasing dishes that mostly tasted mediocre. Loud and dark ambience that's hard to have a conversation. Would...
